Here's a better one. Another Cincinnati pitcher tossed two no-hitters in a row. That's the only time in MLB history that has happened. What was his name? What else was special about the second one?
Johnny Vander Meer threw two in a row, and if memory serves me correctly the second one was the first one ever under lights.
Correcto-mundo! Gator Bill has it right. The second no-hitter was against the Dodgers, in Brooklyn, and it was the first night game ever played!
The first night baseball game was played in Cincinnati, I believe, I had an eye witness... my father was in attendance.
I've always believed the first night game ever was in Cincinnati. This sounds like an assignment for research in the baseball almanac.
 Wow! I stand corrected! This will come as a big surprise to a lot of people around here. The last time that I heard it the other way was last night on the radio! Thanks!
Seems we still have an outstanding question, the last two pitchers to throw no hitters. Felix Hernandez of Seattle was the other pitcher. Here's another one. There were 7 no hitters in 2012. One of them was considerably different than the other 6. What was the difference?
JO'Co, I missed that, but actually three of them was a perfect game, Philip Humber of the White Sox against Seattle, Matt Cain of the Giants and Felix Hernandez were all perfect. It was also Humber's first complete game. However one of the set another record.
Humber is in the Astros organization now, struggling to regain that perfect game form...may never happen.
 I forgot all about Humber until you guys mentioned him. That must have been a fluke. AJ and I saw Cain in his next start after his perfecto when he beat the Angels at Anaheim...
Gipper gets the credit. He is right except it was by Seattle against June 8, 2012. Six Seattle pitchers threw a no hitter against the Dodgers, Seattle won 1-0. Millwood left after 6 innings with a no hitter and the game tied 0-0. Five more Seattle pitchers combined to get the no hitter. A record for the number of pitchers involved in a no hitter.
