I've said before I did not vote for Obama and would have voted.....and should have had the opportunity to have voted for Hillary.

You may view that as good or bad or worse but Obama was not my choice.

That said he is what we have and I have been willing to see what happens with hope that it might work out because I detect a sincerity about his intentions.

However.....by election time he will have had substantial time to show that improvements have been implemented and we are least headed in the right direction and should we be headed in the wrong direction at that time then we will need to give someone else a chance and I would be willing to see if another GOP president could be vastly different than the W team that led us to a path of utter despair economically.

And therein lies a huge difference between you guys and myself that will not go away unfortunately.

The collective conservative mind here is so very disillusioned about the state of this country when Bush left office. It was a friggin mess that no one could turn around in 2 short years.

Until you can admit that we have no middle ground to discuss anything even though I am willing to at least consider a change in the next election.

In my life I have twice voted GOP in the presidential election so I have that ability be moderate in my choices.......but no one else here except for maybe Sid feels that way.

Just curious, Dave, only if you are inclined to say.......who? If not, I certainly understand. I prefer to keep my voting record to myself.

    Interesting...
I never voted for Nixon, even though he was once a Congressman from this district. I voted for McGovern.

An old West Virginia Hillbilly saying: You cannot get the water to clear
up until you get the pigs out of the creek.
*If any other of our presidents had doubled the national debt, which had
taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have
    approved?*

*If any other of our presidents had then proposed to double the debt again
within 10 years, would you have approved? *

*If any other of our presidents had criticized a state law that he admitted
he never even read, would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head? *

*If any other of our presidents joined the country of Mexico and sued a
state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal
immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder who's side he was on? *

*If any other of our presidents had pronounced the Marine Corps like Marine Corpse, would you think him an idiot? *

*If any other of our presidents had put 87,000 workers out of work by
arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that
have one of the best safety records of any industry because one foreign
company had an accident, would you have agreed? *

*If any other of our presidents had used a forged document as the basis of
the moratorium that would render 87000 American workers unemployed would you support him? *

*If any other of our presidents had been the first President to need a
Teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would
you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own
and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes? *

*If any other of our presidents had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars
to take his First Lady to a play in NYC, would you have approved? *

*If any other of our presidents had reduced your retirement plan holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved? *

*If any other of our presidents had made a joke at the expense of the
Special Olympics, would you have approved? *

*If any other of our presidents had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?*

*If any other of our presidents had given the Queen of England an iPod
containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought it a proud moment for America? *

*If any other of our presidents had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia ,
    would you have approved? *

*If any other of our presidents had visitedAustria and made reference to
the nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a
    minor slip? *

*If any other of our presidents had filled his cabinet and circle of
advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved? *

*If any other of our presidents had stated that there were 57 states in the United States , wouldn't you have had second thoughts about his
    capabilities? *

*If any other of our presidents would have flown all the way to Denmark to
make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his front door in his home town, would you not have thought he was a self-important, conceited, egotistical jerk. *

*If any other of our presidents had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer
to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again,
wouldn't you have winced in embarrassment? *

*If any other of our presidents had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go
plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?*

*If any other of our presidents' administrations had okayed Air Force One
flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown
Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they
actually get what happened on 9-11? *

*If any other of our presidents had failed to send relief aid to flood
victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence? *

*If any other of our presidents had created the position of 32 Czars who
report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is
happening in America , would you have ever approved. *

*If any other of our presidents had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved? *

*So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and
    impressive? *

I question the veracity and interpretation of many of those items listed and I don't have time to debate it with your right-wing blogospheric post on the matter.

Except....from Stu's link in another topic:

"When President Obama took office two years ago, the national debt stood at $10.626 trillion. It now stands at $14.071 trillion — a staggering increase of $3.445 trillion in just 735 days (about $5 billion a day).

To put that into perspective, when President George W. Bush took office, our national debt was $5.768 trillion. By the time Bush left office, it had nearly doubled, to $10.626 trillion"

Who did you say doubled the debt in his time in office?

Or you could say that Bush added $4.9 Trillion in 8 years...while Obama has added $3.4 Trillion in just 2 years.

If you are so worried about the debt, as you should be, the only way to keep Obama from zooming past Bush's record is....to not give him an entire 8 years to do so.

This has GOT to be Bush's fault!

WASHINGTON (AP) - Employers hired only 54,000 new workers in May, the fewest in eight months, and the unemployment rate rose to 9.1 percent.

The Labor Department report offered startling evidence that the U.S. economy is slowing, hampered by high gas prices and natural disasters in Japan that have hurt U.S. manufacturers.

The pace of hiring has weakened dramatically from the previous three months, when the economy added an average of 220,000 new jobs. Private companies hired only 83,000 new workers in May - the fewest in nearly a year.

Stock futures plunged after the report was released.

Within the past 30 days, now both S&P and Moody's have issued warnings about the uncertainty of the nation's credit outlook, something that has never happened in the history of our country.....

Mr. President, this ain't political ********, it's the real deal. We need decisive action. It's all about leadership men, where is ours......?

All those trillions of dollars down the drain. He said it was for "shovel ready jobs," but almost all of it went for political payoffs to the unions, gangsters and thug groups who got him elected. Millions upon millions went to our teacher's union here for jobs that have already disappeared...

Federal indictments with Eric Holder as AG? Are you kidding? He's the guy who dropped the voter intimidation charges against the Black Panthers AFTER the prosecutors had won the case...

BTW- Obama made another speech today talking about all the new jobs that he's been creating...

Meanwhile over on the stock channel, a reporter mentioned that when Obama took office the nation had 11 million unemployed; now it's 13 million and headed to 14...

Amazing Dave, you make more posts here than anyone else but don't have the time to answer any oc JO'Co's comments?

Wow, but you do have time to still blame Bush for every I'll in the country that happened before his terms, during his term and after his term.

    Strictly amazing.
