Got back very late last night and had a lot to do today. We are here for about 4 days then camping in the Smoky Mtn's again with no internet. I have some pictures from our last stop that I will hopefully post by the end of the week. By the time this merry go round ends for us it will be close to kickoff. Gators are looking to be tough this year.
Glad to hear you're back home and safe. I have just found out how old I'm getting. I used to think nothing of jumping in a car and driving to who knows where. I had an offer to make a major gun deal in a face to face transaction in Huntsville Alabama last week. I left the house at 6 p.m. and was in Huntsville (890 miles) 14 hours later at 8 a.m.. I made the transaction in less than a couple of hours and headed back to Austin. I got within 90 miles of home and just couldn't safely go another mile. I pulled over in a dot on the map called New Baden, Texas. There was nothing new about that town... guessing a population in low double digits. I pulled up in front of the post office, open from 08:00 to 12:00 Mon - Fri, at a little after midnight. I expected to nap for an hour or two. I left the radio and the fan on. I woke up at 6 a.m. with no radio... no fan... NO BATTERY!!! Thank goodness for AAA. They got me someone to jump start the car and I was back on the road by 7:30. I got home at 09:00 Friday morning. I have been exhausted ever since. I have sworn to Cindy that trips like that one will be a thing of the past. I will drive no longer than 8 hours before getting a hotel room or opening up the trailer. This old man used to be able to make trips like this once per week. Not any more.
