Conference play begins this evening. B1G Ten appears to be one of the stronger conferences this season. We werre 8-4 vs the ACC in the preseason. Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michgan State are picked to lead the group for the conference title. Indiana is vastly improved and stands 12-0 entering the title run. GO Bucks!
hmmm I'm surprised to tell you the truth, they got a great player back from injury and have a good coach. I guess they lost too much from last year and are too young.
That's essentially it, Terry. They lost their assertive post presence Johnson) and their multi-talented guard (Moore). Both those guys made everyone around them better. Hummel can't replace those rebounds, points, and leadership. They are young but deep. The younger players will benefit from Hummel's presence, but I don't see Purdue at the same level as in the past few years.
Buckeyes have a relative easy victory over Northwestern at home here in Columbus to open their B1g Ten season. Wm Buford had a new high of 28 points and Ohio State dominated on the boards.
Hoosiers lose to MSU in the Bressling Center for first loss. Sounds like Cody Zeller had a rude awaking by MSU? Purdue eks out a close one at Iowa.
We may not be top three....but I will be surprised if we don't finish in the upper half of the league.
Buckeyes lose to Indiana 74-70 in Assembly Hall. Referees really called this game close, whistling over 40 fouls. Stats were pretty even but while we held the edge on the boards, 16 turnovers on our part was the difference in the game.
Go Hoosiers! Both teams played well to the end. It was a tough, physical game. In the B10, to have even a chance to finish high in the conference, you must win on your home court. It's a long season - witness Iowa's upset of Wisconsin in Madison - but for IU this is a huge step in the right direction. It's a good time for Indiana fans after several very lean years.
Didn't see the game, Don, but saw a comment on Purdue board that the Buckeyes didn't play very smart the last few minutes.
Yes, Buford throwing up an NBA three with plenty of time on the clock and two turnovers on Craft and Thompson.
Hoosiers are back for sure....beating us and KY in the same month says it all. I was not a fan of how the game was called by the officials, but in fairness, it was called the same way on both sides. With all the foul trouble we never really got any rhythm on either end of the floor but credit also some of that to the Hoosiers. IU played well, tough down the stretch and got it done at homeas you need to do in this conference. Well done by them....
Stu, In the hoopla over the IU-OSU game, don't lose sight of the fact that Purdue pasted Illinois. I'm sure you haven't.
Thanks, Sid...I'm on vacation but I got to watch it. Thank you BTN. Don, didn't know what they meant with that first post about our playing, uh, not too smart at the end, but then saw another one that said we forgot all about our future NBA player in the post. Kind of goes along with what you said. Having said that, we've done well the last few years with an outside shooting strategy...but Diebler is gone.
Sparty bests Badgers in Kohl Center for an OT win. Thats two losses for Wisconsin this season. Maybe the mystic advantage is gone? Buckeyes win at home over Nebraska.
