Sorry guys, even though there are settings for them in software, Ray said he didn't think they worked. I tried and Tom tried and neither of us could get it to work. But you can put an image in your signature. Let's try to keep them small though, if you need help resizing them Tom or I can do it for you. Terry
Thanks for checking, Terry. I liked the way it looked the first night the new software was up; it's too bad it didn't take. Using avatars instead of pics in the signature makes the threads flow more easily. Rick
And Bill doesn't know as much about this type thing as Terry and Tom so nothing I can add. Gator Bill
BDR if it worked for you once try it again. I either got script errors when I tried to upload it to the site or when I tried to link to it I got no errors but also got no avatar. Terry
Guess I can fess up now. I lifted mine straight from the Agtimes avatar storage site. You can get just about any team there. Sorry I didn't mention that all you have to do is link, rather than upload your avatar...
That much I knew. But all the images I would like to use are too big and even when I resize them to less than 80x80 pixels I am struggling to get under the 6K file size limit. Terry
OK, I found the secret. As Ray thought, the system is not allowing the upload of avatars. Scott actually linked to an avatar on another site which is an option in your profile. Uploading to the server is not possible but linking is. I couldn't figure out how he was getting around the upload error issues. Now I know. If you have an avatar that you want to use, you should be able to upload it to your ISP provided web space and then type in a link to it in your profile. Or, if you find one at the site that Scott mentioned, www.agtimes.com, you can right click it and select properties. the highlight and copy the path to that file. Then edit your profile and paste that path into the "avtar link from another site" box.
Mine is not exactly what I wanted but it will do for now. Terry, feel free to take it if you wish!
Let's give this one a try......oops, didn't work. Back to the drawing board. Stay tuned! Boo-Yah!! Terry
