Quite a pasting for Tommy Tubesteak tonight. I wonder if Louden will put up with him any longer than the rest of this season.

I think Tuberville is on very thin ice.

Props to Auburn for making the trip....funny things can happen on the road, even to a national championship contender.......

Yeah...seems like playing W Va would be a natural for Penn St....unlike a few others on their schedule. Maybe even Pitt would have been good....except the Nits opted out of that one a long time ago.

Penn State did drop most of their old rivals when they went to the Big 10. Syracuse, W.Va, they don't like to play Pitt under any circumstances, Boston College, Maryland, even Navy and Notre Dame. Mostly it had to do with the B10 (supposedly) mandating no non-conference games after the start of conference play. I know with Notre Dame that they were willing to play us in Sept but not later in the season when we usually played again because of B10 requirements (supposedly). But early in the season we're pretty locked up with Mich, Purdue and MSU hardly need to add another B10 game then.

That's one reason I like the Vols, they were willing to play us in the middle of their SEC season, I wish we could get other SEC teams to do the same. I'd like to have a schedule that alternates having a good SEC team in late Oct when we play USC in L.A. and a late Nov SEC game when we play USC at South Bend in late Oct.

Hey, maybe W. Va. didn't want to play PSU. Maybe they wanted to test their weak Big East offense against one of those lightnin' fast SEC defenses.

Anybody remember the last time Auburn won a Non-Conf road game?

To me, the funniest aspect of the game was... the teams come out of the tunnel.. Auburn is decked out in long sleeves and winter apparel. Meanwhile, The 'Eers are decked out in short sleeves like it's 75.

    BTW,

    Terry, I found it.

    Last noncon road win.

    @ Virginia 1997. 28-17

They almost never leave the state and regularly their noncons are all played at home against 'non-marquis' teams. Every now and then they have a USC, Syracuse etc pop up... but not often
