What do you think Auburn's chances are against Vandy? Who would have ever thought that this would be the way that this question would be phrased? I can pretty much guarantee a Vandy victory. How you might ask? It is due to the TSuF, the Tennessee Softening up Factor. After playing Tennessee, teams expect a lower level of competition from the offense of other opponents: - Since beating Tennessee 27-24 on Sept. 1, UCLA is 0-3. The Bruins lost to Brigham Young 59-0, to Arizona State 31-10 and to Fresno State 36-31. - Since losing to Tennessee 35-3 on Sept. 13, UAB is 1-1. The Blazers beat Alabama State 45-10 (Div 1-AA), then lost to South Carolina 26-13. - Since beating Tennessee 30-6 on Sept. 20, Florida is 0-1. The Gators were shocked 31-30 at home last weekend by an Ole Miss team that came in riding a nine-game SEC losing streak. Auburn stands zero chance of beating the Tennessee based Vandy team. According to the above trend, they would need to play a Div 1-AA team to hope for a win.
Hey Tom you had the baby yet? I think you meant Auburn has no chance beating Vanderbilt, they already beat Tenn!!
As Jerry DeNardo (a.k.a. Jerry De Wierdo) would say, Vandy IS the University in Tennessee. How did you like my edit???
... and no I haven't. 10 mg Hydrocodone helps make the above mistakes (a.k.a. Freudian slips) happen.
Auburn's defense is pretty stout, at the same time, their offense has been downright awful at time. Somewhere out there, the previous OC has to be giggling. If Vandy can put up 2 TDs and 2 FGs or 3 TDs and a FG, I am not sure Auburn's offense can match that.. Vandy is scrappy and they do have a few guys who make plays. If Auburn has any sort of big turn over or bad tackling, the impossible dream will live on another week.
