ACLU Files Lawsuit To Force Utah Schools To Provide Kindergarten Students With Book About Kids Being Raised By Lesbian Moms…
    [IMG]
According to the left’s ideology the government can do a better job raising your kids than you can.

FARMINGTON, UT, November 15, 2012 — The ACLU has filed a lawsuit to force a Utah school district to keep a lesbian advocacy book on elementary school library shelves.

In the Davis School District in Utah, children as young as kindergarten age can check out a homosexual propaganda book called In My Mothers’ House, about three adopted kids and their lesbian “mothers,” if their parents sign a permission slip.

The book was removed from shelves after another Windridge mother complained to school officials when her kindergartner brought it home. It is presently kept behind the counter.

This minor obstacle motivated the ACLU to seeking to force the school district to put the book back on its library shelves, making it available to all children without restriction.

The only person participating in the “class action” lawsuit is Tina Weber, whose children are enrolled at Windridge Elementary School in the district, the school at the center of the controversy over the book.

In Our Mothers’ House was added to libraries in five of the district’s 50 elementary schools after administrators learned that a Windridge Elementary student was being raised by lesbians.

Far-Left Dems Join With House Republicans For Bill That Would Add Religious Exemption To Obamacare Mandate…
    [IMG]
When liberal Dems Bawney Fwank and Barbara Lee co-sponsor a bill with Todd Akin and Ron Paul it’s time for Obama to pay attention.

(CNSNews.com) – A bipartisan bill in the House would expand the religious exemption to the insurance mandate in Obamacare, allowing those with a religious objection to absolve themselves of the mandate’s health insurance requirement with an affidavit.

Introduced by Rep. Judy Biggert (R-Ill.), the bill has drawn co-sponsors from both sides of the political aisle, including Reps. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Todd Akin (R-Mo.) Ron Paul (R-Texas), and Barbara Lee (D-Calif.).

The bill would allow anyone to be exempt from the individual mandate so long as they filed an affidavit along with their tax returns that “sincerely held religious beliefs” would cause them “to object to the medical health care that would be covered under such coverage.”

The issue of religious exemptions gained prominence late last year when the U.S. Catholic Church raised objections to a federal regulation that all insurance companies provide contraception without co-pay.

The church said that the regulation would violate the religious beliefs of Catholics, because Obamacare forced them to buy insurance that would now pay for contraception, which the Catholic Church believes to be immoral.

Wow, talk about a diverse coalition. This gives me some hope after all that we do have a working government... The Baptist in me salutes the Catholic Church on their stance...

I think it's going to take all of the churches working together to put a halt to the attack on our religious freedom. Watch out for how the Lefties like Obama talk about "Freedom to worship as you please." What they mean is that you may worship in church, but not in public where people must be "free from the intrusion of religion...

Uh...exqueeze me...but the Constitution doesn't say "Freedom to Worship." The Constitution says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;" this guarantees every American the right to practice their religion without interference from the government.

Arkansas: Atheists Outraged Elementary Schoolchildren Being Shown “A Charlie Brown Christmas”…

    Good grief...
    Via Daily Caller:

Charlie Brown’s Christmas is on the outs at an elementary school in Little Rock, Ark. — at least among atheists who are calling foul over a planned student trip to see a stage production of the beloved Peanuts story.

The trouble began when students at Terry Elementary School brought home letters detailing the trip to see “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at a local church, according to a report from Arkansas’ KARK. A parent who had a problem with the play’s content notified the local atheist group of the field trip.

“We’re not saying anything bad about Charlie Brown,” Anne Orsi, vice president of the Arkansas Society of Freethinkers, told KARK. “The problem is that it’s got religious content and it’s being performed in a religious venue and that doesn’t just blur the line between church and state, it oversteps it entirely.”

North Carolina School Orders 6-Year-Old Girl To Remove Word “God” From Poem She Wrote For Veteran’s Day…
    [IMG]
Someone actually thought this was a good idea.

    Via Fox News:

A North Carolina community is embroiled in controversy after a school ordered a six-year-old girl to remove the word “God” from a poem that she was supposed to read during a Veteran’s Day ceremony.

The girl is a first-grader at West Marion Elementary School. She was supposed to read a poem written to honor her two grandfathers who had served during the Vietnam War.

“He prayed to God for peace, he prayed to God for strength,” the poem read.

A parent reportedly found out about the poem and expressed concern about mentioning the word God during a school event. The parent did not want the Almighty’s name mentioned anywhere in the program, according to one account.

We wanted to make sure we were upholding the school district’s responsibility of separation of church and state from the Establishment Clause,” Supt. Gerri Martin told the McDowell News.

Note: CINO is "Catholic in Name Only"

CINO Nancy Pelosi Won’t Defend San Fran Catholic Hospital Against HHS Order To Act Against Faith…
    [IMG]
    Shocker...not.

(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who is Catholic, indicated on Friday that she supports forcing St. Mary’s Medical Center, a Catholic hospital in her San Francisco-based congressional district, to provide health plans to its workers that cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs free of charge even though the Catholic faith says the hospital may not to so because these things are intrinsically immoral.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who is also a Catholic, issued the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate as a regulation under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, AKA Obamacare.

Florida School Replaces Baby Jesus With Frosty The Snowman After Pressure From Obama Admin…
    [IMG]
Our Judeo-Christian heritage continues to circle the drain.

    Via Fox News:

Frosty the Snowman is there — and so is Santa Claus.

But the Baby Jesus is stuffed inside a closet at Cottondale Elementary School — leaving many residents of this small town in the Florida panhandle outraged.

The Nativity scene had been a part of the school’s holiday lawn decorations for years. But this year the yuletide display is strictly secular.

Principal Brenda Jones told television station WJHG the decision to keep Baby Jesus in the closet came after an official with the Dept. of Education dropped by to discuss the separation of church and state.

“The Dept. of Education came in and talked to us about the legalities of religion in the school systems and the separation of the two,” Jones told the television station.

In an attempt to be fair to everyone, the principal said, “We decided that we would just not put the Nativity scene out on campus.”

Obama Administration: We Can And Will Force Christians To Act Against Their Faith…
    [IMG]
And the left couldn’t be happier about it.

(CNSNews.com) – In a legal argument formally presented in federal court in the case of Hobby Lobby v. Kathleen Sebelius, the Obama administration is claiming that the First Amendment—which expressly denies the government the authority to prohibit the “free exercise” of religion—nonetheless allows it to force Christians to directly violate their religious beliefs even on a matter that involves the life and death of innocent human beings.

Because federal judges—including Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor—have refused to grant an injunction protecting the owners of Hobby Lobby from being forced to act against their Christian faith, those owners will be subject to federal fines of up to $1.3 million per day starting Tuesday for refusing to include abortion-inducing drugs in their employee health plan.

The Obama administration is making a two-fold argument for why it can force Christians to act against their faith in complying with the regulation it has issued under the Obamacare law that requires virtually all health care plans to cover, without co-pay, sterilizations, contraceptives, and abortion-inducing drugs.

The first argument the administration makes against the owners of Hobby Lobby is that Americans lose their First Amendment right to freely exercise their religion when they form a corporation and engage in commerce. A person’s Christianity, the administration argues, cannot be carried out through activities he engages in through an incorporated business.

Hobby Lobby CEO’s Open Letter On Why They Are Fighting The Obama Regime’s HHS Mandate…
    [IMG]
    Hobby Lobby CEO David Green:

When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God‘s word. From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.

We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.

But now, our government threatens to change all of that. A new government health care mandate says that our family business MUST provide what I believe are abortion-causing drugs as part of our health insurance. Being Christians, we don’t pay for drugs that might cause abortions, which means that we don’t cover emergency contraception, the morning-after pill or the week-after pill. We believe doing so might end a life after the moment of conception, something that is contrary to our most important beliefs. It goes against the Biblical principles on which we have run this company since day one. If we refuse to comply, we could face $1.3 million PER DAY in government fines.

Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy. Our government threatens to fine a company that’s raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It’s not right. I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it’s the same for everybody. But that’s not true. The government has exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won’t exempt them for reasons of religious belief.

So, Hobby Lobby – and my family – are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don’t like to go running into court, but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

We are dealing with a President and his closest advisors and appointed officials who are the point of a much bigger Progressive movement to re-construct the United States into a socialist model that they covet.

If anyone thinks I am a paranoid nut I welcome your opinion on here but I think after four years the evidence is undeniable.

They are attacking the very core of our democracy; our religious faith and freedoms, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms. Theay balance that attack with an all out effort to get as many people dependent on central goverment as possible and with a coordinated effort to divide the various groups of our society and create massive dissension with one another while they continue their deconstruction of the Constitution.

Their are so many people dependent on government at this point that normal election corrections no longer apply. People will not bite the hand that feeds them. I don't no anything short of a full blown tax revolt will halt this takeover. The only way to kill this bloated monster we have built through our own apathy is to cut off its food supply.

    George,

I tend to have a "bad case of the paranoids" riding in the backseat at times because of my lack of faith in government and what they "will" do to execute their goals.

I think that your statement that People will not bite the hand that feeds them is the crux of the situation. If anyone wants to argue that we are not heading into an era where more citizens are dependent on government or already there I would like to see the numbers in their argument.

The idea of assistance to those in need is worthy and we understand required for many. The problem is the plan to assist, educate and remove the assistance once they get back on their feet at a later date is never met. So it becomes a way of life and removes the incentive to better one's self..

On top of that those that are now employed for whatever agency of the government has incentive to "only" keep the programs going so they can stay employed. I have seen this with the USDA for 30 years. Most USDA farming programs are designed to be short brief programs because of some insect, marketing or inspection program. But they never go away, they only evolve into larger programs that are carry overs from a bygone issue.

I remember such a program that was in charge of destroying trees that had a certain bacteria. The effort to do this was gestapo in their approach and the agents of the USDA had no problem with destroying the farmers investment. When it was finally realized it was in vain and on the verge of being stopped those same USDA workers moaned and groaned to us about what is going to happen to them now....The end result was that magically a new issue was identified and they left this issue for another...It only cost our farm $10 million in lost revenue the last five years...

    Bingo Ralph!!!!! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Therein lies the monster issue.....another elephant in the room. The temporary programs never go away. They become part of the bloated base from which to grow.

Do we really believe that every program, initiative or idea that was funded at the federal level was a success? Of course not.....but they or the funding that was appropriated for their implementation continue to perpetuate. The Obama "stimulus" or the Pelosi/Reid pork barrel extravaganza was a trillion dollars.....this was temporary stimulus for "shovel ready" projects....that was 4 years ago.....those projects are largely complete.

Where is the trillion?????? It is now part and parcel of the operating budgets of each and every federal agency, is now being used to support the federal bureaucracy and perpetuate the monster....it ain't ever coming back unless we starve the monster.....

Libs Petition White House To Label Catholic Church A “Hate Group”…
    [IMG]
He’d never admit it publicly but Obama feels the same way about the Catholic Church, his abortifacient/birth control HHS mandate being a prime example.

(CNA/EWTN News) – An online petition asking the White House to designate the Catholic Church as a “hate group” for its views on marriage is drawing criticism for generating unjust animosity.

The petition reveals an “underlying agenda,” which is not simply to prevent violent crimes, but to “stigmatize any disapproval of homosexuality at all and essentially to silence us,” said Peter Sprigg, senior fellow for policy studies at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.

He explained to CNA on Jan. 3 that applying the “hate group” label to organizations that are morally opposed to redefining marriage is simply “name-calling designed to cut us out of the public debate.”

Initiated on Christmas Day, a petition on the White House website had collected 1,640 signatures by Jan. 3.

The petition – which is aiming for 25,000 signatures by Jan. 24 – argued that Pope Benedict XVI’s 2012 Christmas address to the College of Cardinals “demeaned and belittled homosexual people around the world.”

“Using hateful language and discriminatory remarks, the Pope painted a portrait in which gay people are second-class global citizens,” it charged.

Union Suspected In Torching Of Quaker Meetinghouse
    [IMG]
From the Philadelphia Inquirer via Reason.com:

To afford Philadelphia’s first new Quaker meetinghouse in 80 years, the Chestnut Hill Friends felt their only option was to employ a nonunion contractor.

And now they are paying the price.

Four days before Christmas, the Friends’ world was rocked by the sort of violence they have devoted their lives to stamping out.

Vandals with an acetylene torch crept onto the project’s muddy construction site in the middle of the night. Working out of view in the meetinghouse’s freshly cemented basement, they sliced off dozens of bolts securing the bare steel columns and set fire to the building crane, causing $500,000 in damage.

Police detectives deemed the attack arson because of a series of confrontational visits from union officials days before the incident. They say the torch could only have been operated by a trained professional, and believe it was almost certainly the work of disgruntled union members. The city has assigned extra investigators to the case and is working with federal forensic experts to track down the vandals, said Michael Resnick, the city’s public safety commissioner.
