Never too too soon to look forward to next year: ( especially when your team this season just plain sucked ) https://athlonsports.com/college-football/early-college-football-top-25-2018
Yes... we squeak in to this list at #25. That's a nod to Mullen and the coaching staff he has assembled already. That plus the addition of early enrollee Emory Jones is cause for optimism in Gator Nation. I thought the top 5 looked pretty strong but I do question Michigan at #7 until they can get the Qb figured out.
Perry is the future for the Canes and as much as I loved the heart of Rosier he just didn't have the talent to execute but a fraction of Richt's game plan. I'm fairly sure we never completed a pass across the middle the entire season. Perry was redshirted this season but all indications are that he is the second coming of Michael Vick...Still #5 is pushing it a bit, we will have to see...
Grades; https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2018/01/10/grades-all-130-fbs-teams-2017-season-including-alabama/1020414001/
The grades thing makes no sense to me, for instance the Irish are a B+ not terrible of course, but a team that was unranked to start the season, and rose as high as the top 5 and finished with a New Years Day Bowl win over a SEC team and ranked #11 in the AP. Seems like an A. While Mich State who the Irish beat, and who had our same record and who was also unranked to start the season ( I think) , but had 10 wins, and also a good Bowl win...gets that A. Not sure why.
