Watching Jadaveon Clowney this year? Not much to watch. Hurt all the time but has time during games to Instagram people about nonsense. Houston already having serious doubts about wasting their #1 pick on this media creation. Parlayed one big hit after a blown blocking assignment into fame and fortune. When he laid down on Spurrier last year he was giving the NFL a glimpse into his future.
No surprise here. I guess he is really talented? I don't watch much pro football, but I never was impressed with him at South Carolina. :?
Once in a generation talent, that's the selling point. He's working out so far like Mario Williams who was a bust his first year due to injuries, and while it's been awhile I think it took Mario a couple of years before he produced like a #1. Just an observation, but Social Media for these young guys is everything. We even see it in recruits who announce everything they do on Twitter or Instagram. There were NBA players who were tweeting from the lockeroom at halftime before teams banned it.
Clowney had great combine test measureables. His college stats were on a par with ND's Stephon Tuitt. Last night I was watching Tuitt wreak havoc on the Ravens. Clowney was texting pictures of girls. Spurrier told the NFL that the kid did not have a good work ethic. They should have listened.
We of course won't know if he's a bust for awhile, but certainly there is cause to worry. The paper today said the team was unhappy with his injury situation, felt like he could have played through some of the problems. But that is from the proverbial "sources". BOB after the game:
