http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex Michigan is still #2 in the AP. The BCS is all that matters though.
Well I see after a most impressive win by Ark. over powerful Miss. St. (who only had 100 more yrds off. than Ark) that the Hogs jumped over ND. Next to pounding Western Carolina, I can't think of a more impressive victory.
USC is #2 in the Coaches Poll, that does count. If they are #2 in the Harris poll and they beat the Irish we are likely headed towards and Ohio State vs USC NC game. I'm sort of beyond caring wheter or not the voters screw the Irish out of any points in the polls. If we beat USC next week we'll have a BCS bowl and a great opponent, that'll be enough for me this year. If the Irish were to slip into the NC game there would be so much whining and craying by fan groups and the media all over the country that it'd suck all the fun out of it. Personally I don't see the logic in allowing Ark to jump the Irish in the polls, they had a less than impressive victory over a mediocre to bad opponent. But right now it doesn't matter what the Irish do, all anybody really cares is that we got beat soundly by Michigan back in September. Great comebacks are really the other teams blowing it, while teams like LSU who were down 20-7 late in the game at home and won in OT, had a great comeback victory.... I haven't read anyplace about Ole Miss blowing it, which in fact they did. Jamarcus Russell fumbled late in the game, the Ole Miss players rather than just fall on the ball tried to pick it up and run with it and when they didn't get it LSU got it back. If they just fall on the ball Ole Miss wins that game. Terry
If it turns out that USC and Ohio State will meet in Glendale, Arizona to pay for the BCS championship, I will eagerly await Jo Co epistles about the wisdom of Rose Bowl's decision to join the BCS
Gipper.....sure would be nice if ND goes to the Sugar Bowl and teaches the SEC champ a thing or two about real football. Yep...I sure hope the Irish get that chance.....
