Yeah I spoke with the good Doc last night. We re-capped the game and then he blew me off when his girlfriend called. I assume those are all good things
Last I heard from him he was heading down his cellar to get his power drills etc and be ready for work at his office monday morning. He claims he has a few small bits. OUCH :!:
Well I'm back. I still don't have power at home, but I'm here at the office which was undampaged and the building is up and running with water. power and phones. We called our patients for today and canceled them yesterday but today we are confirming our patients for Tues so we'll be back in business. I'll get a full report out soon. Terry
My wife's parents live in Champion Forest (Northwest Houston) and have gotten their power back. Her sister lives in the Woodlands (further north) and they still have no power... go figure. After all was said and done... We got about a half an inch of rain here in Dallas and a little breeze.
It appears that if your home is on a grid with commercial buildings then you are likely to get power sooner. The strip centers and stuff on the main thorough fare you turn off of into my subdivision have power and there are 2 apt complexes on the road into my subdivision that are on that grid and they have power. When I saw that last night I thought I'd be next but no joy. A couple of my staff members were only out of power less than 24 hours. Here's something I never thought of, if you had a gas water heater and gas stoves you were in business during the power outage. I don't, but I took my first shower since last Thursday this AM and figured it would be a cold ice bath. But it wasn't the water in the hotwater heater was just about right and I just used the hot water tap, felt good.
