I only watched the Willie Mays intro and caught 1/2 where the Dodger closer was pitching. The uniforms were neat though...
I was at a school board meeting in NW Indiana that broke up at 10:45. On the first part of the 2-hour drive home, I listened to the last 2 1/2 innings on XM. The bottom of the ninth was pretty exciting, but the NL could not pull it out. The radio broadcast was very good with Dan Schulman and Dave "Soup" Campbell.
Yes... <t>I watched the entire game as my guy Mays was honored. I proudly turned off the game each time Barroids came up then turned it back on. Pretty good game and a beautiful ball park.<br/> <br/> Local rag here today has comment Ichiro is close to a five year 100 M deal to re-up with the Mariners. This will disappoint White Sox fans as they had him as their #1 target in the off season. I am surprised Seattle is willing to pony up that much but the guy is something to watch.</t>
8) My thinking is almost identical to Larry's. I also left the room whenever Bonds was at the plate. BTW, there could be trouble on the way. Balco Barry is projected to tie or break Aaron's record at Dodger Stadium. If he does, the situation could get ugly very quickly. If I were him, I would sprint around those bases and return to the safety of the dugout ASAP... Ichiro Suzuki made a pretty convincing case for being the greatest player on planet earth. In all my life, I never thought that I would see a player running up in the batter's box like a softball hitter, like Ichiro. That's Ty Cobb stuff, that was supposed to have faded away 100 years ago when pitchers were "slower." Guess not...eh? Prince Fielder was a disgrace. He's an American League DH, not a real ballplayer... The last out for the NL was made by my younger son's (Eric) friend and former teammate Aaron Rowand... Jose Reyes fabulous performance ruined my argument that he didn't belong there. I still believe that Hanley Ramirez and Jimmy Rollins are better, but Reyes masterly display leaves my reasoning in the dust... I was glad to see Brad Penny tossed only 7 pitches in his inning. Did you see how he began laughing before he was introduced? He knew the Communists up there would be rude. That's the way they were raised after they were hatched...
