When he was a NY Giant backup QB I played in a Fellowship of Christian Athletes charity golf tournament in the same foursome as he and Chase Blackburn, a Giant LB. Both really good guys.
I don't doubt he was a good guy George and that's great you got to play with those guys, did you beat them? To bad Jared couldn't control his weight, I thought he had a lot of talent.
Well, we were playing a best ball format so we were team mates. He was a long hitter with no idea where it was going. Blackburn was better. On the long drive hole Blackburn was talking about how he would win the prize. The 4th player, who was the Mayor of our hometown at the time, told him that he didn't think he could out drive me. I laughed it off but Blackburn took the bait and produced a $20. He teed up too high and got a little under it . I striped mine and as soon as I hit it I held out my hand and Blackburn slapped the twenty into it. We laughed about it the rest of the way around because I was twice his age and considerably smaller. It was a year or two later that he made the game winning interception for the Giants in the SB.
Good story George, thanks. JO'Co, Charles sure doesn't look as fat as Jared. That's quite a site of him running and throwing the football.
