:lol: Well all you mid westerners and southerners.. what do you do in case or a tornado .... and your on the road .. we have had 3 in the last few days and still unsettled weather today and sunday .. My nephew was on the freeway near MArch airforce base in riverside when one passed in front of him . He didnt have a clue what to do I didnt know what to tell him .... the tornato hit a big rig and it over turned covering all 5 lanes so no one was going anywhere behnd him then it hit 2 freight trains traveling on the other side of the freeway causing 8 cars to derail (they where passing each other when it hit... Any advice would help ... this is not a familar senerio for us.. earthquakes I can handle .. I never know what they are untl there over with .. Thanks for the advice in advance
If you're in your car you should pull over under a bridge overpass if you can find one. If you are in the open look for a gully or culvert next to the road and abandon your car and get on the ground face down in the lowest spot you can find. In your house go to the baeement if you have on anf get in the southwest corner. If you don't have on then get in the smallest bathroom or closet you have ( the most structural support per sf. ). I've seen a lot of them and been through two of them.
Diane, I would say exactly what George has said. He has given you the exact instructions I have read in the past. I would add one thing. Make sure Jim is crouching in the direction from which the tornado is approaching, and crouch behind him, away from the tornado. This should provide you added protection. :wink:
:lol: Thanks for the advice .... It has been very weird here lately hasnt come out of the 50's for days and to think last week we were complaining about the heat
