JR. DT Darrell Hand a 300lber. The hot rumor is that he's done due to either a medical condition or grades. He was expected to see a lot of P/T this year. We'll be able to recruit 72 next year 8)
I've seen that floating around, don't know what to make of it myself. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. He must be still in school as no mention has been made that he wasn't enrolled, like Kuntz. If he has a medical condition that will prevent him from playing, then he wouldn't have to leave school as he'd be moved to a medical scholarship and allowed to finish. Of course maybe he's decided that if he's not going to play football he'd rather finish college some place closer to home.
It may have something to do with a heart condition. Man, that would be two D-Linemen, both projected starters, gone in one week. Ouch
The other was Pat Kuntz, a starter from last year. Ian Williams was a first team freshman AA this year.
What happened with Kuntz? Was that medical? I kind of remember one of you mentioning this but don't remember the circumstances. That's tough losing two DL from an already young line.
While nobody will say exactly, the fact that Kuntz is not enrolled and will be going to school at a small college leads most to conclude he didn't get it done in the classroom. To his credit his only statement has been that he intends to work very hard to get back to ND for the fall. At this time the Darrell Hand situation is just a lot of speculation, we could assume that where there is smoke there is fire though. With the 85 player limit it hurts to lose anybody really.
Yes it does Terry, unless you have some 4 and 5 star recruits out there waiting to get into your class.
