Giving this it's own topic because (I think) it's too good to miss; http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201302/woody-hayes-100-years-coach-ohio-state-buckeyes-college-football-columbus
Stu, I agree. I can remember when he spoke to a very small high school I attended in Magnetic Springs (Union Co) Oh. (1954) There were 18 in my graduating class (1954). I ran into Woody walking down by Mirror Lake in the fall of 1956. I mentioned that fact and his recall was unbelievable! I was very sad about the act that caused his dismissal, but he was a great coach and human being.
I saw Woody's last game and the punch. It was dumb and it was probably time for him to retire. However the punch didn't, and couldn't have, do any damage and I agree it should not be the way he should be remembered. Thanks to both of you for the article.
Duh. Read your post and snippet but was at work and never got to the article, I guess...then I was just following the thread. At least I didn't challenge your data.
The formal shindig for Anne & Woody was held last night at a $1,000.00 dollar a plate. Looked like a packed house.
 ....it's gettin' thicker than a 7 layer bean dip around these parts....if I didn't now any better, one would think that they relocated Ohio to Florida or something....jeeezzzuuussss....can we talk MMA, PBA, YMCA or something around here?.... 8)
