Whoa...that's huge. Smith is their best OL. But then Saban can afford to do this since he's got Utah as his opponent.

Ah...he's thinking about going to the NFL...not suprising..but i'll bet they found out he's been taking money already from an Agent. First clue might have been the Benz or Escalade he was suddenly driving.

They sent him home on a plane. That tells me that this smacks of agent involvement or discipline issues. Since the kid has always kept his nose clean, and a guy that size isn't sneaking under any radars in New Orleans... I'm going to assume for now that Nick Saban is trying to avoid an Antonio Langham situation and just nuked the kid.

Yeah he has been one of the good, quiet guys. I don't know what happened but he is not one of the ones I expected to have a problem.

I think I heard earlier on ESPN that it's an agent thing. To quote a former great Alabama player about whom a movie was made......Stupid is as stupid does.

I wouldn't call him stupid. Disloyal maybe... stupid, no. Here is a big ugly that smells the money. He made contact with an agent or an agent made contact with him to get the process rolling to "Show him the money". Does this make him stupid? Heck no. It does make him be shown as a Bama player that has no respect or concern for the Bama program.
