    Michigan getting a 2nd try to beat Ohio State for the NC. Can you imagine the injustice had they got another shot? There were more than a few who said they were robbed of the chance. Well I for one am glad they were.

    maybe

    <t>people should be thankful there isn't a playoff. USC seems mighty dangerous when they are paying attention.</t>

    I can see why. Maybe the SEC can win at least one game vs the Big Ten. Then again....maybe not.

    I never could buy the logic that Michigan was screwed. All they had to do was win their last game of the season and they were in...they didn't do it, so why were they entitled to a do over on a neutral field.

    Fla and OSU is the matchup.

    Talk about injustice ?

    Boise State made a statement tonight and don't tell me about how GA whipped their arses 2 years ago.

    After watching them beat Oklahoma, Boise State had every right to claim a shot at Ohio State even more so than Florida.

    Don't forget that Boise State beat Oregon State and the Beavers won 8 of their last 9, including victories over USC, Cal and Missouri in the Sun Bowl. Boise whipped them 42-14! They also beat Hawaii in a shootout and clobbered Nevada 38-7. That's the same Nevada that just lost their bowl game to Miami by one point!

    Whatever is going on in Boise, Idaho is for real...

    What a great game. I can't imagine any bowl game this year being as entertaining as this one was.

    That was by far the best game of all the bowls so far.

    What a finish both in regulation and in overtime.

    Boise deserved the win.

    I see that half their team is from California, and you nver see them ranked high in the recruting rankings.

    They are a great story.

    Jim Rome said today he wants all those precious minutes and maybe hours from his life back that he spent debating whether or not Michigan should have gone over Florida. :lol: :lol:

    Can you imagine if we were stuck with Michigan and Ohio State part 2? We might have Michigan as NC right now. We dodged a bullet this time.

    back to reality

    <t>Yes, heaven forbid that the two undefeated teams in the country be rewarded by meeting on the field for the national title.<br/>
    <br/>
    oh no, that just won't do. Instead we got what this system loves to produce, a one loss national champion from a super conference. In the end, you have to give props to Florida for what it accomplished on the field in the form of a big bowl win. At the same time, there is only one undefeated team left in the country and they were denied the shot at playing for the national title.<br/>
    <br/>
    As I told my smack talking Southern co-workers today.....Damn the system all you want, just as you have in the past, but you celebrate the hell out of it today. Laugh at the WAC and all of the non-'big dogs' if you want. Go ahead and introduce the playoff system that you all clamor for when you feel 'yo suthan boys are getting cheated' but be prepared for the Boise State's of the world to actually WIN national titles. That's the thing about other sports where they actually have a playoff. The boys from the 'big dawg' conferences dont always win. As Florida found up last night, sometimes strange things happen when you actually play the game on the field and out from behind the microphone.</t>

    Come on, Boise was a great story, esp the way that the game ended. But face it if Boise State had played in any of the BCS conferences, even the B12 they wouldn't have made it through the season undefeated.

    I'm glad they got their shot in the expanded system, but I don't at all think that being undefeated against a WAC schedule justifies giving them a slot in the BCS championship game.

    i hate to tell you this

    <t>but our 'national champion' didn't make it thru the season unbeaten either.<br/>
    <br/>
    That's the neat things about playoffs, games are won and lost on the field.<br/>
    <br/>
    Nothing, and I mean nothing, stands in the way of a playoff moreso than the mindset of super conference (and its fans) that ALL of the spots in said playoff belong to them.<br/>
    <br/>
    Why have a playoff then? It would just be another form of what we have already.<br/>
    <br/>
    Stop putting lipstick on the pig and play the game already.<br/>
    <br/>
    No one is saying they'd win it every year...But its only a matter of time till they win it..<br/>
    <br/>
    If Dennis Erickson could realistically win an NC at UNLV, we'd all be in trouble</t>

    BSU pulled out all the stops and wrinkles to upend 2 loss Oklahoma by a single point.

    Florida gave THE Ohio State University....unbeaten and No. 1 all year perhaps it's most devastating beating in it's history given the circumstances and now a very few out there say Boise would have survived Florida's top ranked schedule unblemished and was more deserving to play OSU than Florida?

    Corey you will find very very few who think that.

    ........

    <t>Two days ago, there were very few people who thought Florida would have beaten Ohio State and VERY few of the craziest Gator fans only would have thought Florida would have pounded them.<br/>
    <br/>
    Strange things happen when you play the game.<br/>
    <br/>
    If you try to tell me you thought that would have happened, I'd call you a bullshitter and I'd be right..<br/>
    <br/>
    You can't go back and re-write your own anticipations, expectations and abilities post facto...<br/>
    <br/>
    You know as well as I that the Gators played a near perfect football game on a night where Ohio State totally sh*t the bed..Kudos to the Gators...and as you should now well appreciate, that's why they play the games...</t>

    I never, ever thought the Gators would whip the Buckeyes like they did.

    I absolutely thought UF had a great chance to win and belonged in the game more than any other team.

    I was not surprised at all that the Gator defense was extremely underestimated going in to the game and that they would have a nasty surprise for OSU.

    Most people just don't realize that Auburn beat Fla with no offensive TDs.

    Most people now understand just how good the UF defense really was.
