West Virginia vs Oklahoma. If the Sooners can stop stealing jackets long enough to show up, this should be a killing. Make it stop. Playoffs 08!
OK I'll give you playoff proponents a question. If you are going to have a playoff it won't be fair unless coaches are prevented from jumping ship at the end of the season. Like the NFL, the NCAA is going to have to mandate that a coach can not leave his school, nor entertain offers, or make contacts with agents, etc before their team is finished with the playoffs. It's not really fair that WVA has to face a very good OU team with a skeleton crew for coaches. Just think if this had been the BCS Championship game. Like the NFL if you are not in a bowl/playoff then fine, you can look for a new job or be contacted. The way it was this season made the bowls ridiculous in some cases.
Terry <t>I think that's fair.<br/> <br/> I will also give you this question... If West virginia beats Pitt and is still in the NC hunt, do you think RichRod leaves for Michigan? I don't.<br/> <br/> Its the fact that he's not playing for all the marbles that enables him to look elsewhere. At this point, all he's missing is a bowl game and the BCS system has shown us that those don't mean a whole lot.</t>
Are you sure that Mich wouldn't have approached him? I'm not, there is no rule against it. It was/is to their best interests to get their coaching situation finished up before the end of the year. Would he have listened to them, who knows, his gripes wouldn't have changed. Would WVa have caved to his demands if he was in the BCS game, I sort of doubt it myself.
well <t>if he had WVa in the title game, I think he could have asked for most anything. just MHO.<br/> <br/> They might have approached him, but he would still have something on the line at that time.. As it stands now, it makes more sense to get on recruiting for M than it does to coach a bowl game.</t>
