...about Trivia. AS ALWAYS...NO GOOGLING!!! (1) What well known NFL player graduated from Yankton St. College? Bonus question!!! (2) What is Ruddi Lubbers claim to fame?
1) I can picture him but his name escapes me. He had a beard and was a lineman. I think he might have been connected to steroid use.
Allright Doc, since you named him first. Did you know that Yankton St. College is defunct and now a Federal Prison farm? OK, WHAT ABOUT THE BONUS QUESTION?
Steroids + Orange Crush did it for me. I didn't know that about Yankton State, I stopped following them when Ziggy Zibowski left the program. I have no clue as to the bonus question. :?
As long as I have been a Boxing fan, I'm shocked that I've never heard this name before. While waiting to find out if he would meet George or Joe, Muhammed Ali traveled to Jakarta Maylasia and fought Dutchmen Rudi Lubbers in Oct 1973. The lack of media coverage and interest in the fight has caused it to be a rairity as far as film and photo's of the fight. Ali cruised to a boring and lackluster 12 round deciscion. Ali fought Lubbers just 40 days after beating Ken Norton in their rematch and then fought Frazier 3 months later for the right to face George Foreman in Zaire. I never knew this. I always thought Ali went from Norton to Frazier to Foreman. Ya learn something new everyday I tell ya.
AJ, it's a sign of my age that I can't recall names that 10-20 years ago would have come easily. I literally could picture the guy, but I couldn't identify his name.
