This jerkwad is doing more to help the Dems than hurt them:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/with-win-in-hand-romney-looks-ahead-to-super-tuesdays-contests-from-alaska-to-massachusetts/2012/03/04/gIQAV4lFqR_story.html

He may be shoring up his following of mad-as-hell right wingers but he is also destroying any thoughts that moderate voters might have had of voting with the GOP.

    You go Rush.....

Did Bill Mahr turn off independents when he called Sara Palin a cunt?
How about Letterman and his comment about Arod and Palin's young teenage daughter having sex?
    Just wondering?

I consider myself a moderate GOP member, and i don't take my cue from what Rush says whether it be offensive to somebody or some group or not.

    I agree with you Terry.

It seems that the media wants to insist that all conservatives think like Rush does. And this works in the other direction that all liberals must think like Bill Mahr. Evidently we have forgotten that its the middle ground where most people stand in the US. But the easy route to classifying the public is to group them in one direction or the other. :?:

I think Bill Mahr does turn off moderate leaning Democrats like myself.....and he did or has.

The thing is I could be a swing voter but not when I see the right snuggling up to the extermists views of a hate monger like Limbaugh.

    He's not funny to me.

I don't think extremists like Limbaugh or Maher are going to influence too many people one way or the other. they are both objectionable and not to be taken seriously.

Ok MCG did you make as much noise when Maher called Palin a cunt, referred to Palin and Bachmann as boobs and two bimbos and said Santorum's wife used a viabrator?

I don't remember you starting a topic about any of those items.

More important after Obama made a call to Sandra Fluke to sympathize with her about Rush's comment, do you think he will return Bill Maher's million dollar donation to his pac?

If he doesn't is he a hypocrite?

I think we know the answers to both questions.

Will Obama Return Maher's Million $$$$

For the record I agree but am still really interested that in light of Obama's actions this week if he will continue to ignore what Maher did.

$9: Price For a Month’s Supply of Birth Control Pills With No Health Insurance At Target 3 Miles From Georgetown Law…
    [IMG]
Media whore extraordinaire Sandra Fluke was only off by roughly 900% when she claimed it would cost over $80 a month.

(CNSNews.com) – Although Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke testified to the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee last month that contraception can cost a law student $3,000 over three years and that some of her fellow students could not afford it, a Target store only 3 miles from the law school currently sells a month’s supply of birth control pills for only $9 to people who do not have insurance plans covering contraceptives.

That would make the total cost for birth control pills for a student who decided to use them for all three years of law school just $324.

Fluke was the sole witness who appeared on Feb. 23 before an all-Democratic panel chaired by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Sandra Fluke Argued For Mandatory Health Insurance Coverage Of “Gender Reassignment” Surgery…
    [IMG]
You mean she isn’t your average Georgetown co-ed like Pelosi and co. billed her as?

    Via College Politico:

As many have already uncovered Sandra Fluke she is, in reality, a 30 year old long time liberal activist who enrolled at Georgetown with the express purpose of fighting for the school to pay for students’ birth control. She has been pushing for mandated coverage of contraceptives at Georgetown for at least three years according to the Washington Post.

However, as I discovered today, birth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. She also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if “gender reassignment” surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.

The title of the article, which can be purchased in full here, is Employment Discrimination Against LGBTQ Persons and was published in the Journal’s 2011 Annual Review. I have posted a transcript of the section I will be quoting from here.

Rush Limbaugh through arrogance and gross stupidity turned her into a hero and a sympathetic figure for the left. Limbaugh has done the GOP a disservice and deserves to have his sponsors cancel. He is too bombastic and has too great a following to disappear from the airwaves, but his effectiveness as a purveyor of opinion has been neutered by his own actions.

Maher? Life isn't fair. If it was, he would have been gone from the airwaves long ago. He is a mirror image of Limbaugh on the other end of the spectrum.

I think the difference is that Palin is a national political figure......and national politicos are all prone to harsh media commentary from time to time but certainly that doesn't excuse Maher's comments because Palin is still a woman.

Just like Don Imus describing an amateur basketball player in the terms he used.......Fluke is a college student....maybe a liberal one.......but still a student nonetheless.

I agree with Sid on both counts.

I was amused by Maher a long time ago but he became more acerbic and harsh as the years wore on and I grew not to like him at all.

Fluke is not a college student, that implies some wide eyed young girl passionate for a cause. She's a 30 year old law student paying 41K a year at Georgetown. She is an activist who is seeking attention. But I will agree it's over the line to call anybody a slut or a prostitute on the airwaves or tv who is in the public eye.

The truth about Fluke, that she is just another lying liberal is both redundant and proudly worn. Once again, a staged Congressional hearing, completely untrue testimony given, a setup from the very beginning, and the issue is a political commentators choice of words to express his disgust. What words best describe someone who wants someone else to pay for her sexual activities? Maybe lying slut would have been more accurate.

Still a student......just an activist......not a professional politician on the national stage.

If Rush had a conservative activist daughter in college and someone from left media said the exact same thing he said now how would that fly with him?

And the thing is nothing indicates that he knew much about her background and that background is what motibvated him to say what he said.

Wouldn't make it right but at least you could understand that may have been his motivation at least.

I have a feeling that conservative white males are the only ones that are going to buy this " she had it comin to her" defense you guys seem to be fomenting up here.
