Hears a picture of Sergio answering a question about his round Bad luck, had to wait to long, blah blah blah....shoulda coulda woulda.....shoulda made the Putt Serg....
The Marine is still around...I thought he'd been taken out by the Ladies Auxillary!!  On Sergio, I saw the end coming on 17 and 18 yesterday when he had 2 makeable birdie putts and couldn't do it, the neck size of his shirt was shrinking. And poor Steve Stricker, the greatest American putter....missed 3 gimmie birdie putts on the front 9 or he'd have been in the fight at the end...or maybe won it outright ...after the 3rd miss he was toast. Great Day for Irish Golf though, Harrington a true son of the auld sod, from south of Dublin wins the Jug and a 17 y/o Irishman Rory McIlroy was the best amateur! Nobody but an Irishman could survive two in the burn on 18 and still win!! That's what you call the Luck'o the Irish!!
I was on the road for the 4-hole playoff. Listened to the British commentators on XM. They were great.
Bad putters are bad putters and new equipment will not change that in the long run. Sure like the good putters they get a temporary air of confidence that they've solved their putting problems and a belly putter, new grip, new club etc. will solve the problem but in the end, they putts start to slide by, the confdence begins to falter and the bad putter returns to what he always was. BTW was there ever a more incrdible round in the Open than the one Romero had today. Birdies and double bogies, just like one of my rounds except for the birdies.
Did someone actually win the Open or was it last man standing? The final day was interesting to say the least. Don
Yep. Sam Snead used to say, "I could tie a Rock on the end of a stick and still make putts. If you know what you're doing, you know what you're doing"
Never the less, had Sergio continued to putt lights out the belly putter would have been flying out the doors at Golfsmith, Watts, Golf Galaxy, etc.
LOL.....Old Ricko has a picture for every occasion. Good Point Doc. Wilson Clubs, which normally are the bottom of the sales chart, should see increased interest now.
