Kp......all the BCS vs. playoff talk aside how do you see this game?

I have seen rematches go both ways with UF......once in 1996 when what I thought was a better Florida team steamrolled FSU in a rematch of a closely fought game and then in 1999 when almost everyone assumed a "superior" UF team would gain revenge in Atlanta over Bama and yet the Tide rolled over the Gators surprisingly.

It boils down to motivation and coaching....Saban vs. Miles.

    My gut says take Saban.

Yeah but it doesn't always pan out the way you would think Tom.

When it does....it's katy bar the door.....like in the example I gave when UF pounded FSU in the Sugar Bowl.

But sometimes you never know.....like when UF was #1 with Tim Tebow as a senior and Tenn with Lame Kiffin and his mouth came into town and most Gators thought we would chew him up and spit him out and yet Tenn was fairly tough that day in a ten point loss only.

I don't know. The offenses show flashes of excellence. Not enough to be excellent though. The defenses are both excellent, so another low scoring (boring?) game should be on tap. Turnovers are the big question mark. If there are a couple of turnovers and one team gets a couple of short field scores it could get out of hand. If both teams play their best games another low scoring (great defenses) game will be the result. This is almost like an intra-squad game. These two teams look like the twins. :?

Despite all our angst I wish you and your Tide well.

I've always considered low-scoring games between two outstanding defenses to be fun to watch.....definitely not boring. It's the quality of the game, not the number of scores, that interests me. I'll watch the rematch, knowing I'm watching the two best teams in the country IMO.

That's how I viewed it Sid.

Both teams have great athletes on both sides of the ball and on special teams. The old saying which is proven time and time again is that defense wins championships.......that and a lion of a player on offense like a Tim Tebow or a Trent Richardson.

My "boring" was a weak attempt at sarcasm. I love 9-6 games when the reason the score is so low is great defensive play. Defense does win championships however you have to have an offense that at least does no harm.

    i.e. Florida vs. Florida State

Noles get < 100 yards on offense but UF's turnovers result in a 2 TD loss.

Tru Dat kp...Irish are a classic example, offense lead the nation in turnovers or were one of the worst at least....our defense was much improved, but got no help at times from the offense and so we are 8-4 and not 10-2 headed to a BCS Bowl game.
