Score was about what was expected but Alabama has to improve a lot in a couple of areas: - QB play. Alabama rotated between McCarron and Simms (3 series each). McCarron looked better but it was Simms first time to play at all. I vote for sticking with Mac. Simms will get his chance. - Turnovers. 4 INTs and a fumble. If we do that next week, we definitely lose. - Offensive line - Did not come close to dominating Kent State DL. That will be a big problem. A plus - The defense was stifling. Now if we can get the offense to not hurt us, we may have a replay of 2009.
I think you guys are looking stout.. Green QBs will grow by the week. I look for Saban to tidy up some things for next week.
Great defense buys you time to shore up other areas and it looks like you have it! You are right tho... turnovers can sink the ship in any case.
KP, I'm gonna have to watch the full replay of your game. I am going to watch the Auburn reply in a bit on ESPNU and turn it off with 3 minutes left...after that, I'm watching the Bama replay. Tide fan after Tide fan is really worried about that OL.. From what I saw, your defense is incredible and AJ looks good.
Corey, We should have blown KSU off of the line on every play. We didn't. We could throw, but we couldn't run at will. This weekend we will find out for real.
well it's not like you don't have all-world RBs... that's on the OL. I'll be interested to see how the matchup with Penn State goes. You guys should carry the day and the line on both sides. We'll see though.
If last year's Florida could move the ball on Penn St I can't see why Bama should have that much trouble.
Give me 41 points, and if I lose, then I'll have one of Doc O's Pecan Pies sent to ya for the Holidays.
