Someone sent me this article, I enjoyed it so I am sharing it with you. I think it helps one understand the Alabama group think and the lasting legacy of the Bear. *article removed* But it was a good one and it spoke well of an SEC legend.. I know, unreal
Corey you need to edit that down quite a bit. We have a new policy that says you can only post a few sentences of any copyrighted material along with a link to the story. You can write a summary along with a few sentences and the link, but no more posting the whole article or a substantial portion of the article. Skybox Rules
ok <t>there ya go, not a single word from the article remains.<br/> <br/> its a good read though.<br/> <br/> have we been 'ndnationed'?<br/> <br/> i cant imagine that we have that type of traffic here.</t>
Well we are pretty small potatoes, but everybody can trace all the sites that link to their articles and they have bots that can comb the net for plagarism and copyright infringement. It's become pretty standard on just about every site I know of that you of that you can't post copyrighted material. The NDNation guys got hammered by the South Bend Tribune, threatened with mayhem and lawsuits over posting of material from the Trib website a year or so ago, but then lately they have gotten more attention from lawyers of various websites that posters have been taking copyrighted material. I would hate to get Ray in any kind of trouble over something we did, and I am pretty sure that Bill says he doesn't allow it on his Gator Site. Terry
interesting <t>I do, all day, exactly what you are speaking of..<br/> <br/> lots of legal huffing and puffing, but cited sources and links are enough. I am sure someone in the 'there outta be a law' crowd will eventually win a decision, but that day isn't here.<br/> <br/> We actually ran a study for 4 different sites and I helped run another study for my roommates company..which serves as both an ISP and major provider of sports forums.. links only postings actually HURT web traffic for all parties involved. The sports board usually keeps static traffic while the providing site will see an initial surge, that is eventually followed by a massive drop off in traffic.<br/> <br/> But anywho, enough of the crap I do all day... If those are the rules, then dem da rulez....<br/> <br/> I'll probably just go back and edit the entire thing out then... Its a great story though</t>
It's up to you of course, but I'd encourage you to put the link back. I read it before you took the link down and I thought it was a great story. Terry
Corey, Terry, Thanks for that. I have heard and read about stories like this one all of my life. I know some on here think Coach Bryant won because he cheated. I submit that he was at good at cheating as his peers. Where he really excelled was motivation, innovation, and adaptability. When you read books by his former players, they are full of tales of what looks like abuse and cruelty but the victims (i.e. the writers) almost all express a lifelong admiration for and devotion to Coach Bryant. I will say that Coach Bryant seemed to soften somewhat after the late 1960's. He was still tough as hell but there wasn't another Junction in him by that time.
