I can only pray for a rainout Sunday night  And now Clemens is hurt... before he threw his first pitch.

I'm laughing to keep from crying  Is it football season yet?

I just hope Mientkiewicz is okay. I expect he has a strained muscle in his neck or shoulder, and I hope that's the extent of it.

Thanks to Abreu for opening the door in the 7th with his Keystone Kops fielding, and to Proctor for helping to put runners on.

How about 2 E-6s, and E-5 (mental positioning mistook!) in the same inning!!

Jeter's error on the play in which Mientkiewicz was injured was tough. He was in a bad position with Tek barreling in after a lazy toss by Cano. The second E was just a flat-out boot, but that can happen even to a guy like Jeter.

McCarver went on and on about A-Rod's positioning after the fly-out, but even if he had stayed at third there is go guarantee they would have gotten the out.

Maybe they were rattled by seeing a teammate down and the carted off the field. No question it was a bad half-inning for them.

Sox need the win today. We're going to a dinner party that starts before the game. I'm going to have to get the host to put the game on with the sound off.
