Wow, about time for something like this. More Than 10,000 Academics and Scholars Sign 'The Philadelphia Statement' Against Cancel Culture
There was a similar group, not as large, but the same thread. It came after a journalist left her job over what she considered not having the politically correct slant to her writing. I think she might have been and asst editor of a magazine or something like that. Bottom line is that Progressives/Left leaning democrats are extremely intolerant of any viewpoint that doesn't reflect their world view. Freedom of speech only if they agree with you.
The above article very well may be 100% true, but the publisher's and writer's recent track record justifies some level of scrutiny. In the past two years, beginning August, 2018, PJ Media, the publisher of the article, has published 6 articles or columns which have been determined to be false. The most recent was written by Rick Moran, the writer of the article cited above. The description of the 6 articles and the reasons they were deemed false are listed below. Source: Wikipedia
Sid, I have nothing invested in PJ Media but thought the subject interesting and they summarized it. But here's a couple of other links to the Philadelphia Statement. Thanks, Bill. When you cite the National Catholic Register, that's all I need. To be clear, I never was in doubt about the Statement. It was the source commentary that I wondered about based on their litany of falsehoods. For the record, I disagree with much of the content in these divisive topics as well as the general tone, but despite my disagreement, I respect all of my Skybox brethren's beliefs and have no desire to engage. Carry on.
You have every right to question, and I will be careful about that site in the future as the truth can always be found elsewhere. Sid, I understand what you are saying and for years stayed away from this forum. Here's a suggestion, start a non political or non controversial topic and we can keep it no political.
I haven't gotten though the music topic but intend to. So give it some thought and we can keep it non political.
