This post will find me in the unfriendly confines of Des Moines Iowa. If you have a Nebraska plate, the customer service you receive is minus 15% from anybody else, and the automatice gratuity is + 30%......jealousy I tell ya... Anyway, first game is in 3 hours.....then the second one is right after.....2 days of 2 games each day and then they go to championship brackets for the weekend. There's teams from all over ....Fl, Wisc, Ill, In, Ark, Ok, Mn, Ia, etc.,.......the team from MN is HUGE....we've already requested birth certs. There's a 12U team from Moore, OK....they got a huge ovation during opening ceremonies last night....as they should....the game does go on....made my heart warm... I'll have a full report from day 1 tonite.
Full report on the Downtown Des Moines Restaurant/Bar scene will be appreciated! I hear it's hopping!
Good luck, AJ. Summer baseball tournaments are great. Lots of games, solid competition, and you get a chance to see how your kid stacks up against the best in his age bracket. I'm sure he'll do well.
Huskerfan, You have to get in line. Corey, reserves the right to complain about his treatment from the citizens of Decatur Alabama before you complain about Nebraskan's and Des Moines, Iowa.
that's funny. I just took **** yesterday at Target for my ND hat. It's not even obviously an ND hat. All I wanted to do was buy an HDMI cable but some undiscovered hip hop star with his Bama grill has to give me sh*t. I just take it. We got whooped. Those are the facts. So AJ... do I need to call you a lawyer or bring a shovel? How's it going?
Corey, and AJ, Just bide your time, these things run in cycles, this year the goat, next year the gloat!
If this guy ends up a Cardinal I'm going to have to buy AJ a beer! It can't be a coincidence that AJ is in Des Moines and this guys chooses that very location to defect to the USA. Cuban Pitcher Defects
Sorry guys....been extremely busy since getting back at 2240 hrs on Sunday.... Here's the link....not a very user friendly site, but check it out if you like... http://www.usssa.com/sports/Tournament3.asp?TournamentID=948397 In a nutshell, Thurs and Friday were bracket days....they lost their first 3 games and won the last one on Friday.... Saturday started elimination....They started Chase, who only had about 5 innings left to pitch, in a must win situation.....he left the mound with a 6-1 lead, giving up only 2 hits, and 1 unearned run....the 2 seamer was working beautiful..... They ended up winning that game, and with pitching hitting diminishing returns.... Then they got it together, and won the next 4 games TO WIN IT ALL.... LADIES AND GENTLEMAN.....YOUR LINCOLN CYCLONES!! (Chase is front row kneeling left)
Very cool, AJ. Chase's team must be very, very good, and Chase must be a heckuva pitcher. His team obviously was seeded low following pool play, so they played one of the higher seeded teams. He pitched lights out and gave his team the momentum it needed to march through to the championship. Congratulations!
