The quest for the Green Jacket starts tomorrow. The longer Augusta makes the short hitters long shots. I'm surprised Doc hasn't starte a pick 5 thread.
    I'd take
    Tiger
    Scott
    VJ
    Furyk
    Luke Donald.

One of my nephews (the one who plays at A&M) and his dad scored tickets for Sunday at the Masters! They are pretty pumped to say the least.

    My list:

    Tiger
    Phil
    Adam Scott
    Geoff Olgivy
    Henrick Stenson

Well Geoff Olgivey is already +4 after 5 holes...triples do that to you. But Ernie Els, is also +4 stated double bogy, bogy....not a good start.

Well Rose is in the Clubhouse with a 69, I doubt if anybody goes lower than him today. Tiger is at +1 through 10, if he can get to -1 he's in great shape, even if he finishes +1, those guys under him still have to look over their shoulder.

Strangest Masters I have ever witnessed. Highest winning score in 51 years.

Numerous lead changes and most everyone up and down, except Johnson.

He may never win another, but I guarantee he will never forget this one either.

Not sure what you mean by that but this kid is hardly a dark horse...he made the Ryder Cup team last year.

Well you are right that he was a Ryder Cupper, not sure given the results that's a feather or not..but even given that and his 1 career win he's not exactly a household name and the reference is of course to Ben Curtis going back to being a journeyman golfer after that big win.

It wasn't a spring board to a top 10 career, before the Masters he was actually 69th on the money list and Curtis 58th. But I will give you that Zach was not anywhere near the unknown that Ben was, he actually had a good year last year. But you just don't hear his name much...if you don't hear it much in the future then he's the next Ben Curtis.

He didn't change his game plan even when Tiger was breathing down his neck. He hung in there and executed all of the shots (better than Tiger did) he needed. I think that so many guys get sucked into changing their game because they think they have to to be able to beat Tiger. He showed a lot if mental courage and it paid off.

Not to diminish his well earned jacket but if Tiger wasn't having an off day he would have won going away no matter how well the winner played.

The guy outplayed the greatest golfers in the world in the toughest conditions the Master's may have ever faced...Tiger didn't "lose" this one...Zach won it.

Ben Hogan probably would have won going away too, if he wasn't dead.

Tiger didn't break par one round this year. I'd say he had an off tournament. But so did VJ, Phil, Ernie and all the other favorites. If I recall there were some serious problems with Johnson's father a while back. He's a real head case. Once the kid got him off his back he bacame a pretty good golfer. We need some other kids like this to kick some ass in the next Ryder Cup.
