A la carte channels?

    Here's an interesting article about Intel and their ability to provide single cable channels to viewers. I don't know about the rest of you but there are some channels that I never watch that just take up space in the program guide.
    I imagine that there are a lot of folks out there that don't watch sports and would love to not have the ESPN group of channels on their list. Also, how would this effect new conference networks like the Big Ten network?

    I think, eventually, totally customized cable/satellite packages will be the norm. It's just a matter of realizing that people are being forced to pay for/accept unnecessary waste. I'm not sure that will be a good thing though because then you'll just wind up with a more limited selection and Disney will still own all of them.
