The REAL Yankee MVP since 1996. The best that ever played . Irreplaceable.

You know you're the best when you only need one name to be recognized.

Here is an article from ESPN where the case is made that Rivera was not only the best relief pitcher of all time but possibly the best pitcher... period.

Here is the entire ceremony held Sunday at The Stadium. What impressed me besides Metallica were the retired Yankees who honored him. They look to be in better shape than most current major leaguers.

A footnote to the Mariano Rivera topic:

Andy Pettitte ended his career with a complete game win. He never had a losing season, and he conducted himself with class. He had a PED episode which casts a cloud, but in my opinion, his character throughout his career gives credibility to his explanation of the situation. I don't believe he is a HOF candidate, but he had an admirable career.

What a finish to a marvelous career. 256-153 3.85 ERA 19 post season wins. Won 21 games twice.

Maybe the greatest pickoff move in the game. He simply stopped the other team's running game.

He may not make it in to the HOF but he is as close as you can get.
