So I know there is a wide range of opinions on this whole thing. I know some think the players have been getting screwed for years and that they should be paid. I'm in a camp that says we can do more for the players in terms of the full cost of attendance that is going into effect in the Power5 conferences. Also some schools are guaranteeing scholarships, or I should say they are promising the players if they leave early for the NFL they can come back and complete their education for free if they want. Also a I think the 4 year scholarship is going to be the rule, no more annual scholarship where not renewing your scholarship is possible. But I don't really know what O'Bannion and his buddies want? I'm sure they will say they just want what is fair, but what is that? I can see a senario where if they get everything that they want that they end up radically changing the landscape and having schools drop their football and basketball programs out of Div1 and down to where there are fewer scholarships and most of those only partial scholarships. I could see Div 1 being reduced to 32 or so teams, so in essence they will have reduced the opportunities for players not increased them. It is possible that they will killl the goose if they get what they want. I wish I knew the end game here. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2015/09/30/appeals-court-ncaa-violates-antitrust/73079962/
Keep in mind that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals is in a legal world of it's own. It's so far left and off the charts that it leads the league in decisions that are reversed by the US Supreme Court. Here's their sterling recent record Now realize that the SCOTUS is not a far right body and in fact is very close to neutral. Non the less these liberal wackos out west just keep turning out ******** decisions.
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals once ordered the U.S. Navy to stop using it's sonar in the Pacific Ocean, because it hurt the ear drums of the whales out there...
