Teddy Ballgame was in the news here this week. Dodger second baseman Aaron Miles has never been a great hiitter, until recently, with a B.A. near .315. He finally had Lasic surgery on his eyes at age 34 and he was astounded to see the world with 20/10 vision, instead of his astigmatism. It mentioned in the article that Ted Williams had 20/10 vision, which made him both a great hitter and a great fighter pilot. John Glenn called Williams "The best I ever flew with." and it was said that in baseball, he could see the seams rotating on the ball as it came to the plate....
I remember Teddys great eye sight. Also in that same year ( 1941), A BALL PLAYER CALLED THE YANKEE CLIPPER was on his way to a 56 game hitting streak. Amazing that the those 2 records could stand forever! one day in Cleveland...oh oh oh ! Goodbye Joe Dimaggio!
