At last, it feels like the football season is upon us. With recent developments regarding Zach Smith, Wide Receivers Coach, fired yesterday by Urban Meyer, and his relationship with Earl Bruce's grandson comes to an end. I hope Brian Hartline becomes the interim coach. How this will affect recruiting offers remains to be seen.
Always cool to see that Stu. One of the great traditions in college football. On Zach Smith, seems like from what I have read that he's had anger issues with women going back to his days with Urban at Florida. He'll have a hard time getting a job in coaching in the future.
I wonder where Game Day will be for the Labor Day Weekend. Most of the games are on Sat. There are some the Thurs and Friday of that week but not especially compelling. You have to figure it's always going to be some highly ranked teams or something that makes it compelling. Oregon State travels to Columbus for Ohio State, but that is likely to be a blowout. Tenn makes the trip to Morgantown, is that the first time Tenn has been to Morgantown? That might be a candidate. Louisville v Alabama...but Louisville is not the team that pulled the big upset over FSU a couple of years ago, could be a blowout. Michigan at Notre Dames seems to me to be the likely candidate. Jim Harbaugh, lots of bad blood between the programs, haven't played in awhile.
Ah that weekend over Labor Day starts the most fun time of my year. We don't have season tickets any longer, age kind of caught up going to Florida for 7-8 weekends a year. But we try to go to three games either stating with or ending with the Georgia game on the last weekend of Oct. Planning on Georgia, Missouri and S. Carolina this year. If things don't change.
