Taking a 309 mile warm up trip this weekend. Will stop at three Harley shops along the way. That is only 130 miles short of each day's mileage on my way to Tennessee. That trip will be 2000+ miles round trip and starts on 29-June.

Up and ready to start. Meeting my neighbor in one hour then off to first stop... Ft Hood Harley Davidson. Next stop, refueling in Lampassas. Next stop, Waco Harley Davidson and refueling in the same parking lot at Flying J. Next stop, Horny Toad Harley Davidson in Temple. Next stop, refueling in Rockdale. Then back home 309 miles and approximately 7.5 hours later.

Only made 277 miles of the 309. Had to cut part of the last leg because my GPS was very close to dying on unfamiliar roads. My bike has no power source from the factory to run accessories. I was relying on a full charge on the Garmin nuvi 1350 and an external rechargeable power source. Both were spent in six hours.

Visited four Harley dealerships. Hospitality at all four. Each one had a wash tub filled with ice and free bottles of water. Two of them were cooking sausage wraps free but accepted donations to the local hog chapter. At Horny Toad HD in Temple, I found the parts necessary to plug into the factory electrical system to install a cigarette lighter plug so I don't have to rely on charged batteries.
