This will be the final week of regular college football scheduled games. It never ceases to amaze me how rapidly the season starts and ends. Now that Ohio State has won our big game with Michigan, they have given us a breath of fresh air and we only have to worry about Northwestern. We are still on the outside looking in for the playoff games. If Texas can beat Oklahoma, that would help us for certain. However, I do not see any of the other favorites losing this week. I doubt that Georgia can upset Bama. Good luck to all of you who have teams in the hunt. Notre Dame fans can sit back and watch very comfortably.
Championship week. Really only a few games anybody beyond the fan bases really care about. The big one everybody will be watching is Georgia vs Alabama. I agree with Don that the favorites including Alabama are likely to win this weekend. The other one is of course Texas vs Oklahoma. It's hard for a team to win a rematch. This one won't be any different. But in Texas favor is that OU's defense isn't likely to be any better this coming weekend. I'm sure OU will put up 40-50 points on Texas but I'm hoping that Sam Ehlinger is 100% or close to it as if he is we can probably match them score for score. Northwestern v Ohio State I don't know what to expect. Northwestern played well vs Michigan and Notre Dame. But if that Buckeye team that showed up last Sat shows up again it won't be close. Clemson vs Pitt. Clemson probably can pretty much name the score. Utah vs Washington...For the Rose Bowl bid. Utes are playing pretty well with backups at QB and RB. Huskies looked like the team everybody thought would win the Pac12 this year. Personally I'd like to see Utah win though.
Haskins name Big Ten Offensive Player of the week! After arguably the most dominant performance of his career against the nation's top defense, Dwayne Haskins is the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Week for a single-season record sixth time. (11 Warriors.com)
Bama, Clemson and Ohio State roll..... Texas-OU a toss-up and either way a close game coupled with an Ohio State blow-out of NW gets the Buckeyes in the playoff and sends ( thank God ) the Michigan Wolverines to the Rose Bowl. Don't want no part of a pissed off Wolverine that has a particular knack anyway of beating up on Gators....
Alabama has had a problem establishing the run early and has not been scoring in the first half like it was earlier in the season. Our passing game has been hitting on.all cylinders and our defense is.playing very well. Georgia's running game is very.good and their defense is playing well too. This will be a test just like the NC game last year. Texas vs Oklahoma. With any semblance of a defense, Texas should be able to beat OU because OU has no defense. Ohio State and Clemson should walk through.
Barring the unlikely blowout loss, I don't think anybody thinks Alabama or Clemson have to win their conference championship games. Conventional wisdom is that 12-1 Clemson and 12-1 Alabama are still in the top 4.
I'm not so sure OSU is going to roll over Northwestern. Certainly they should be favored, but I expect a closer game than most folks are predicting.
I will vouch for that Sid. No way can we duplicate that offensive game against Michigan. I never quite know what to expect anytime we have taken the field this year.
Ohio States allotment of 10,250 tickets for the Big Ten Championship game, Saturday are all gone as of today.
There's no question that NW is outmanned talent-wise, but under Fitzgerald, they're a junkyard dog kind of team. They may lose the game, but they'll fight to make the opponent play at a higher level in order to beat them. If I was a betting man, I'd take OSU but only if the spread was low to mid single digits. Edit: As I posted the above, it came to me that there was a guy on our board many years ago who was a Northwestern fan and resented my use of NW. He insisted on NU. I think he annoyed virtually everyone. Who was that guy?

Bobda....LOL! Kes, this was pre-Nebraska in the Big 10. My memory is fuzzy, but I recall that the manner in which the guy insisted on NU just fortified my resolve to continue posting it as NW.
Northwestern University = NU University of Nebraska = UN ? unless you went to school in a small backwater burg southeast of Austin.
T - Blinn College in Bryan? Sid - even pre-B10 Northwestern didn't make sense to be NU. On a compass, Northwest is NW. If they are Northwestern University, NWU may work, but I'm with you, I've always used NW myself. I guess they're too good to be associated with a directional school?
Kes...Blinn does have a campus in Bryan. I'm hearing more and more that if the SECCG is close that both teams will be in the playoff.
