CFN has ND lsited as a 2008 non-bowl team that could rebound a la Kansas did last year. From CFN: - Notre Dame Yes, that Notre Dame. Lost in the nightmare of 2007 was a defense that actually showed up for the first time in the Charlie Weis era. Weis turned over the offensive reins and will focus on the entire team, while the attack should be better with a load of veterans returning. Catching Michigan early in the season in South Bend is a huge plus, while facing five-non bowl teams in the first eight games should help. It is a refreshing break for ND to catch 5 non-bowl teams out of the first 8. That might make a huge difference. I do think Michigan will be trying to find it's new path this year under RR and especially in the first few games.
more crap <t>In order for Kansas do rebound, does that not assume that they had an initial bounce? ND has had very well documented problems that led to the meltdown that was the 2007 season. Of course, people who don't see that probably like to say "Notre Dame will be the new Kansas."<br/> <br/> jjjjeeeezus<br/> <br/> Is it too soon to start the March Madness talk?</t>
Notre Dame the Kansas of 2008? Well I hope we have a great season and win a BCS game like Kansas did last year. But Since Kansas was boosted by playing in a B12 North that has been very weak for several years now and played Central Mich, SE La, Toledo, and FIU to open the season I don't see the comparison between last years KU opening schedule and Notre Dames opening schedule this year of San Diego State, Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue. Never the less I hope for the same end result as KU! Our coach is certainly fat enough!
