With Moody's leaving USC for Florida the Gators should now be considered #1 in recruiting for 2006.... http://rivals100.rivals.com/TeamRank.asp?postype=0&sort=0&year=2006
I'm sure in your mind they are #1 in 2006. The rest of us? We just can't believe you even posted this.
Hey...it's still not kickoff time yet and I'm reaching....you're right. But....maybe it's a legit claim? In any event it does highlight the recruiting success Meyer has had in the last two years and last year may have even been better than 2006 and that inevitably leads to the real answers as to why Gator fans are not too concerned about recruiting progress this year or the lack of.
OK Fla. got a RB that couldn't get playing time at SC because they have about a dozen top RBs. Maybe you could pick up a 4th string LB too while you're at it.
5.8 yards per carry...2nd leading rusher for USC in 2006 and at least The Sporting News' Pac 10 Offensive freshman of the year. I think he does make a difference in the 2006 recruiting rankings and certainly could have an impact at Florida for the future.
Well I guess we throw some more stuff against the wall and see what sticks! Actually George and Gipper make very good points.
Since when are transfers considered recruits? I don't understand your reasoning. It doesn't make sense.
Recruiting is about gaining new talent. This qualifies as receiving new talent if not actively recruiting it. Bill, next time Terry poses the question about Gator fans worrying over recruiting while it may be a legit question at this point in this recruiting season hopefully the points made in the topic above helps to answer the question about why we may not be so worried.
"Actually George and Gipper make very good points." OK Bill...as I have stated elsewhere everyone has a right to their own opinion and apparently you do not think much of Moody. Let it be known that in my opinion Moody is a much, much better pick-up than a 4th string linebacker as Gipper is saying. Apparently you didn't see his highlight runs from last season posted on Gatorsports that were from YouTube.
Actually Rivals reranked the 2007 class based on who showed up in August camp. The Irish moved from #8 to #7. Recruit Rankings based on who enrolled
Some things... <t>Never change. WOW Hargrave military should be able to compete on the D-1 level with the fallout that landed on their campus.<br/> <br/> For those that follow the old SWC like Scott, Terry and I it's no surprise Baylor still cannot get guys on campus. I have noticed this for years even under Grant Teaff who IMO is as phony as they come. It's no wonder they struggle like they do and their head coach is on the watch list to go this year.<br/> <br/> That Auburn list is amazing.</t>
Auburn hell....check out Oregon State! Interesting stuff.....there is also a vast discrepancy between conferences. SEC (44) Big 12 (23) Pac 10 (21) of which Oregon St is (16) of that ACC ( 18 ) Big East (14) Big 10 (4) What would cause such big differences?
Terry, I don't know why there are such differences in conferences. I do know that the schools I follow the most have some trouble getting all their guys in school. I am gratified the Gators are not on the list. However we do have one player that took summer classes, and passed them, that the Clearing House is being very slow to respond and make him eligible. He was practicing and now is not. I don't know if Hargrave Military has a football team. But I do know that for years players who do not qualify right out of high school go their for a year and many of them have then made the field and in many cases been successful in school.
I can't believe that Oregon St. is still embarassing itself with it's recruiting. After Chad Johnson played a whole season after transfering in from a JUCCO and then dropped out without ever attending 1 class, you'd think that the administration would have been professionally embarassed. Guess not.
Just looked up Hargrave. These guys will play on the Post Graduate Football team. Here's the poop on it. Here is their schedule, pretty interesting. I wonder what football team at Tenn, Navy, Maryland and W. Virginia they are playing???
Interesting list. Jim Delany would take delight in that list except that the team that caused his manifesto rant on the SEC doesn't have anyone on the list.
