A team lost their regular season ending game at home to a lowly ranked team. They went onto beat an unbeaten foe in their bowl game but they were told they couldn't win the NC because the other team (whom they had beaten as well) 'lost earlier' than they did. Today, we have a team that's getting its 3rd shot at a national title despite losing its last regular season game, at home, to an unranked opponent. Give me the old bowl system or a playoff please. Seriously, imagine how much fun New Year's would be with all of the wild finishes we would have!
Hypothetical line up for 8 Dec FSB 1st round playoff <t>Ohio State vs Clemson<br/> LSU vs Wisconsin<br/> Oklahoma vs BC<br/> Georgia vs Illinois<br/> Va Tech vs UF<br/> So Cal vs Ariz. St (thats just the way the cookie crumbled)<br/> Mizzou vs UH<br/> Kansas vs WVU<br/> <br/> Can you imagine? I would have a heart attack. This would just be the first weekend!</t>
That's a little misleading. It was a triple overtime loss to a team that is ranked in the final regular season rankings and who has the 2nd place Heisman Rb two years in a row. ...and their last game was a conference championship win playing with a 2nd string Qb and without their superstar D-lineman over the Tenn team that everyone here tried to tell me was so much improved and was going to expose LSU as frauds.
Interesting that the voters have Arky at #25 or #24 yet the computers somehow get UConn into the BCS top-25, keeping Arky out. BTW, agree with the assessment of the BCS+1 process for 2007 ..... it is just fubar.
yawn <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> they squeeked in at the end based largely over their win over LSU. They were not ranked when they played.<br/> <br/> Arkansas has 8 wins this year. Aside from their upset over LSU they beat:<br/> <br/> Troy<br/> North Texas<br/> Chattanooga<br/> Ole Miss<br/> Florida International<br/> South Carolina<br/> Miss State</r>
