    I believe that picture is of former Neb QB from the glory years, Brook Berringer. He was killed in a private plane crash at 22.

    Doc is correct. Brook was killed a few months after he graduated. His number was kinda retired, they have a shrine for him, and you won't see his number worn on any game day. The only Official retired number is that of Tom Novak, #60? I think....
