It would be illegal to teach most of that material in a public school today. Why, there was even a mention of God!
That is cool. The plan now is to abandon hand writing all together in favor of Google chrome books...
In Indiana, there is a movement to remove the requirement to teach cursive writing. Where in the h--- did this come from and why? What is happening in today's world that some educators don't see the need to teach writing?
Remember the opening senes of "2001. A Space Odyssey" with the evolution of the apes. They communicated by grunts and gestures, then used various implements and finally cave drawings before evolution brought speech. It appears that we are reversing the process.
Sid, They've already dropped cursive in Texas. I have no idea how they are going to sign documents... I guess they'll just use a PIN instead. :?
