I think that was the "Bud Shootout". The actual Daytona 500 is next weekend. That is the official start of the NASCAR season and therefore the start of our contest.
Lol, I should have specified is was not the actual race but the shootout. I've never been to the shootout before but have been to the Daytona 500 race a few times to watch when Darrel Waltrip slid upside down in his old Gatorade car and watched Gordon win a race or two. It's a different experience seeing it in person but the idea of being a sardine with 200,000 people before and after the race makes it a TV event these days...
Here she is ripping off her shirt getting ready to rumble with the guys who crashed her earlier this week!
I wonder what they will do if they have to postpone the race now till Tues? It's a long haul for those trucks to get the equipment to Phoenix for the next race, at least a 30 hour drive. I doubt if Phoenix would want to cancel or delay either. I wonder if they would come up with some other way to determine starting order other than the traditional qualifying runs? May a foot race like in the Legend of Ricky Bobby!
They need to hold every race in Austin Texas. One of two things, both beneficial, would happen: 1) There would never be a reain delay, or 2) The dorught would be over in Central Texas! :?
And once again Gator Bill shows his extreme sportsmanship by giving everyone else a one week head start. Standings in the next day or two depending on work load here in China.
My grandkids like a show called Wipeout. Contestants run an obstacle course and usually end up being thrown into the water below. Last night it looked like they put that show on wheels. Are these professional drivers supposed to be able to drive around a track alone safely without taking out a drying truck? The pole sitter is out of the race by turn 1 of lap 2? A race scheduled for Sun afternoon begins on Mon. night and finishes on Tues. morning? Quite frankly, I'd prefer the winter olympics in Mansfield OH.
OK so I'm deep into conspiracy theory here...but I think what is happening is that the men are getting together and drawing straws as to who has to take one for the team in any particular week. Otherwise if she starts wining and doing really well, we'll see her everywhere looking fine and all that..taking commercials away from the good ole boys. What next a bunch more women on the circuit, what if S.Korean women give up golf and start driving? They don't want that!
Tom, I can't believe I did this and I apologize. I was sure I picked all levels of drivers and wasn't going to make any changes until a few weeks. Then I even missed you post. Sorry, I was determined to do better this year and still don't know what happened because I did think I picked drivers. It won't let me pick tonight but I will get it in, for whatever that's worth, tomorrow.
So, Bill, are you picking the newest rookie to win at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend? Early Saturday race...
