ND men today snatched a win at Connecticut 50-48. They now are 6-3 in the Big East. That's three solid wins (Syracuse, @ Louisville, @ Uconn) which will help us get off the bubble at tournament selection time....provided we continue to win the games we are supposed to win.
No surprise that the Womens team is one of the best in the nation after a final four run last year and bringing back most of that team for this year. But the mens team after losing it's best player in Tim Abromatis was looking like a bottom half of the Big East and at best a NIT team. Certainly could still end up in the NIT but today's win was huge and as you said put that with the Syracuse and Louisville wins and this season is better than expected. I certainly hope that we can keep it going. .500 was thought to be unattainable after Tim went out, but if we go 3-6 the rest of the way then we will be .500. If we can just go 5-4 and have a good Big East tourney run we should make the NCAA's. We have 5 home games left starting with Marquette next Sat, Marquette who is ranked #18. We have been very tough at the JACC, if we can hold serve at home and sneak a win on the road like today...that would really tie up a very solid season for a young team.
Didn't know Mike Brey was so emotional! He however has no hops! Lockeroom after todays win vs UConn. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rAjzSeWyFP8" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Seriously expecting a "good Big East run"? We end every year with two disappointments. A good year would be NIT semifinals.
 This is Brey's greatest coaching job. He has let the air out of the ball. If it wasn't for the shot clock these scores would be 12-9...
ND Men throttled Marquette, ranked #15, our freshman Pat Connaughton had a great game. We might actually get ranked, next up is a trip to West Virgina and Bob Huggins bunch.
It was such an easy victory, that CBS switched off the coverage when the Irish had a twenty point lead and went to the Florida game...
Hey eventually Lucy won't pull the football away from Charlie Brown! I have to believe that! Also John Wooden was 16 years at UCLA before his teams did anything in the NCAA Tournament!
Our RPI (men) has risen to 55, up 10 points from the last calculation. We are just outside the top 25, which I understand when seeing the teams ranked at the bottom of the top 25, all excellent teams.
Good choice of your new avatar Sid! Skyler might be the top female athlete in the history of ND sports.
