    Scott,

Their defense was pretty solid. They held us to 7 points!

I'd say you got a good one...he's been there as DC for 5 years and they've steadily improved each year and led the league this year in rushing D.

Another plus for him was being selected for the position by D'Antonio himself a defensive guru....he was a DB in college, was DC at several stops the last of which before he took the NC job at Cincy was as Tressel's DC in Columbus and his defenses were ALWAYS nasty.....so if the guy passes Coach D's test, I'd say he's a keeper.....I'm guessing you're on your way back to Wrecking Crew days!

OMG...you guys are hiring Brian Pollian???? That guy was a good recruiter while at ND, but the had a hard time finding something that he could coach.

Not exactly. GA ran back a KO for a TD.

Speaking as a M fan, I think it is a good hire. MSU had the best defense in the B10, a very aggressive, fast, and nasty group somewhat reminiscent of the old A&M "Wrecking Crew" defenses. His defense beat up our offense 4 years in a row so I am not sad to see him go.

My guess is that it will be easier for him to recruit quality talent at A&M as opposed to State given the larger talent pool available and the lure of playing in the SEC.

I was a little surprised at the move since the general thought was that his next career step would be as a head coach but the Spartan BB's are claiming that A&M is offering him nearly 3 times the salary he was earning at MSU. I guess you guys are serious about your move to the SEC.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info.

Terry, what I hear is that Pollian is going to be recruiting coordinator, and maybe special teams.

Mark Synder the USF DCoord is the Aggies New DCoord. Might be a good hire, certainly not a splashy hire, would have thought you guys would have brought in somebody with SEC experience.

I'm not sure the "splash" hire was there to be had for us.
I don't think we were ready to throw $1mil at a coord, so we stepped back a little.
I like Snyder's body of work.
The time at OSU looks pretty good...

Absolutely....he had some fine defenses loaded with great players. I think he'll do a great job for the Ags....
