No doubt '96 Neb wasn't '95 Neb. Still think they would have beaten UF. But it was a weird year, sort of like the year a 2 loss LSU team won the NC.

Well Terry we will disagree and I think UF's 1996 record speaks for itself..

...and please check the info in my edit above.....thank you.

In any event....I'll bet Kp is already parked in a spot that has alcoholic beverages coming his way with ease.... :D

I like LSU tonight.....as good as Alabama is.

    20-17....17-14.....something like that.

I sense a pick 6 by that uber talented LSU defensive backfield will turn the game in the Tiger's favor.

Call the medics.....this one's going to be a bruiser!

A Nat'l Championship is a Nat'l Championship and for the fans of those teams that win them they are all good! But when you compare teams across a time period there has to be some sort of pecking order and 1 Nat'l Championship team will be seen as better than another Nat'l Championship team. No way of course to prove any of it...strictly opinion. I respect your standing up for the '96 Gators.

Yessir, Getting my game face on. If there are no turnovers this should be a low scoring slug fest. RMFTR! :D

Well if you wanted this kind of game then you got it! So far it's not nearly as good a game as either the Rose Bowl or the Fiesta Bowls.

I thought it was kind of funny that on the first LSU punt that their cocky Australian punter ran down and said something to the Alabama returner (Maze) which I assume to have been some trash. Next punt the Alabama kid almost takes it to the house...unfortunately for him he pulls a hammy and is likely done.

    9-0 at half.

Congrulations KP! Most impressive win and I was surprised you held the Tigers scoreless. That was a major accomplishment and I agree DEFENSE does win championships!

Great win. No doubt about who's #1. Gives us Irish fans an idea about how far we have to do defensively.

Here's the kicker, Alabama most likely owes it's title to Iowa State. Had Oklahoma State beaten Iowa State, OSU would have most likely played LSU in the title game with Alabama going to the Sugar Bowl and playing Michigan. LSU likely would have beaten Oklahoma State.

    Sid what is your Avatar?

Congrats to Kp and all things Bama.....helluva performance.

That said.....what was the deal keeping JJ in at Qb for LSU? Did Miles have a brain freeze?

JJ looked as lost as the true frosh Jacoby Brissett did for Florida vs. Bama in the second half after Brantley....yes that John Brantley torched the Bama secondary for 200 yards in the 1st half before he was injured.

It was painfully obvious that Jefferson was not going to move that football team last night and at least Jarrett Lee would have been a change of pace and possibly have made the boring as hell game more interesting.

But take absolutely nothing away from Bama.....they were extremely well coached and disciplined and focused on winning the title and they did easily.
