    Astro's Willie Taveras is at 30 and counting!! Thing that gives him a shot to keep it going is that he's possibly the leagues fastest player and will beat out some balls that other players can't and he's also a very good bunter.

    That said, it'd be a shame if he was the guy to break Joltin' Joe's record!

    I don't think he's the type of hitter who can go all the way so the use of the Curse is overkill!! :) But he might run it up close to 40 since he's not a hitter that the other team is going to pitch around, walk, etc. They will pitch him straight up.

    Well the double curse of Jif/Krebs worked, but there will be consequences! :evil:

    Willie was hit twice by Brewers pitcher Tomo Ohka, once in the neck and once in the shoulder. Both were on the first pitch. Roger is up tonight for the Astros and there will be consequences, he doesn't put up with that stuff. :twisted:

    My father was stationed with him for a few weeks at an Army base in Texas in WWII.

    He said he was extremely quiet. When they had free time my father and another guy used to hit fly balls to him on the base field.
