Kickers!!! :? :? :? :? Was it Richard III who said My Kingdom for a Kicker? :)

For that kid to miss 3 FG's, esp the 1 to win the game and then the 1 in OT to essentially give the game to Ok State. I wonder if he's still out there walking back to Palo Alto or if some trucker has given him a ride.

I don't know which game was better though, the Fiesta or the Rose. This was a great game. Rock'em sock'em defense, outstanding toough hardnose offense from Stanford, razzle dazzle offense from OSU.

Luck was really special though. Blackmon was as well. What was most impressive though was the tough hardnose running game by Stanford. Man those backs hit a hole and just kept churning, never went down easy.

Too bad somebody had to lose.

    - ROTFL!!!

I agree that it was a great game, with some very special players on both sides, however, I feel so bad for Stanford's kicker! I still have occasional bad dreams about a sure TD pass that I dropped down in Long Beach in a high school game in 1967. I can't imagine that poor fellow... He missed the easy game winner at the gun, then blew another one in OT to cost Stanford the game. Ouch...

I had a pal who hiked the ball over the punter's head at Stanford in 1971 to cost them the game and it was the first time that San Jose State had beaten Stanford in 39 years. He still won't talk about it...

Both fun games to watch and I feel bad for that kid also. The first miss cost them a win. The second probably did not as Ok State had a first and goal at the half yard line and they could have probably made a touchdown if they chose to.

Also the Georgia kicker misses two in OT. The first was after Geogia got an interception and only needed a field goal to win, the second was blocked in the 3rd OT to tie the game. He did make on in the 2nd OT that made him the all time points leader for Georgia. That's bittersweet.
