Another New Year and I'm still here. That's a good starting point. I hope everyone here has a great 2012!
Happy New Year to all from Dayton, Ohio where the forecast is early morning hangover followed by clearing later this morning
Happy New Year from Fort Myers Beach; Old and tired...went to bed at 10:30 but the fireworks up and down the beach woke me up at midnight...it was beautiful. Played golf today (worst round of the year, Terry) and then played in the pool with my grandbabies. Tomorrow it's Bowl City... I hope that all of you have a truly prosperous, healthy, and happy 2012.
Happy New Year to my Skybox friends! I hope the first day of the year is not an omen for the rest of the year. My Comcast box has died and we have no phones or Internet until the tech man comes on jan. 5th., ya gotta love the holidays where all things stop. iPhone typing is for smaller hands and better eyes! Stu, how long are you in Ft Myers? Cold weather is coming Monday with highs in the mid 50's on Tuesday and expected to reach 28 degrees on Wednesday morning. I am blaming you of course for the cold weather since you are in the area! 8)
Stu, Where in Ft. Myers Beach? We went there several years in a row for spring break trips when my kids were in elementary and high school.
Here all week...will take credit for the cold weather coming in. They're calling for it to be back in the 70's by Thursday. Sid, we are in a place on the south side of the island....practically across the street from the little executive golf course if you know where that is. I am pretty careful about the sun even though I don't need really strong block to prevent burning. Usually 8 SPF is just fine. I got down here and put on the 8 and hit the golf course Friday...by the 6th hole my face was burning up like I'd been in a heat lamp...I could not figure it out...I play golf in the south a lot and never had that happen...by the 9th I was re-applying the block. By the 11th I figured out that I was having a photo-sensitivity reaction from a course of antibiotics that I had just finished. Thankfully, one of the guys I was playing with had some 100 SPF in his bag. I golfed the next two days with my son, but put 100 on and bought a goofy broad-brimmed had to wear. I look a little like Rudolph. I am very fortunate that a buddy invited me to golf on Friday...otherwise I might have gone to the beach and got fried.
Stu, you are where we always stayed. I remember the name of one of the places - Island Winds. There was another, kind of a roundish tower, the name of which escapes me. Very nice beach in that area.
Happy belated New Year everyone. Lost an old friend Fri. He died suddenly age 63. It's been a sad weekend for us.
