Everyday I'm seeing more Miami players declaring for the NFL, will you guys have upper classmen left. With the number of players going to the NFL you'd have thought you had a great year but you didn't. Is Golden just cleaning house of guys who were involved with that former booster who's in jail for fraud.
Re: Ralph What's up with the mass exodus of players from Mia <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> ...and those boosters can never just be the Tom, Dick, and Harry's of the World......it's gotta be some guy named Nevin....or... <URL url="http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-3812839.html"><s></s><SIZE size="150"><s></s><COLOR color="red"><s></s><B><s></s><U><s></s>Sherwood<e></e></U><e></e></B><e></e></COLOR><e></e></SIZE><e></e></URL> <E></E></r>
Terry, its a couple things, one is players see the hand writing on the wall of NCAA judgement coming down and don't want to play under probation. Another is Golden is truly going down the list of players who have performed or rather underperformed since signing on with the school and cleaning house. He has been quoted saying "that some players are not the caliber talent we are looking for on this team" and mentioned that he expects scholarship reductions to come very soon so every player needs to be a performer to make up the difference of the loss of scholarships. I have heard that he expects 53 - 57 players from next years team will be made up of freshman and sophomores. If you are going to be on probation for however long it might as well be with a very young team.
Now if you would have said Cohen, Schwartz and Freid you would have validated yourself but the truth is that at $55,000 per year to attend the private university Miami has one of the biggest populations of Jewish students in the nation. Most of these coming down from the north east with lots of money where the yearly enrollment is pocket change to them and south beach is their hangout. Is the feeding trough still the hangout for most Husker students or did they move it to the silo... :?:
Sherwood, a name from the past. I hope that the NCAA can manage to get things under control without using the death penalty again.
AJ, I owe you an apology I never looked at the link, I didn't even know it was there. I solemnly swear never to post again after drinking crown and coke after a pissy day.....
It's cool Ralph....I figured that you didn't get my SMU reference the first time. I will admit that I have done the same several times before, only I'm a Bourbon guy.... I remember how the Reverend could get me worked up. I try and not get personal on this board, I just like to take shots at Miami when I can...oh and the Cubs.....TX.....FSU.....PSU.....Army guys....Squids.....AirFarce....etc,....
